The kickplates on my FD are pretty badly scuffed, is there anyway to clean them up? The fact that they seem to have a plastic type covering means that they can\'t be cleaned up with metal polish or similar....

Hit  it with some 1000 wet and dry with soap/water. Then some nice polish, works a treat!

Nice one Normski, I assume the wet n\' dry will remove the plastic coating as well?

hi normski

mine are the same got this plastic covering on them starting to peel of. looks like selotape. got any pics you can show us.
does anyone know if there are chrome ones available

I got fed up with buying new ones for mine and even had a set chromed at one point which didn\'t last so I rubbed them down and sprayed them with hammerite smooth paint which gave a tough easy to clean finnish.
All the best Clive

I can\'t say I have ever had the inclination to take pics of those bits. Phooo there you go!

It does work, Use loads of water and soap don\'t want deep scratches, Looks a bit misty afterward but then use alloy or metal polish and watch it come up almost like crome.  I even done the same thing on the wheels, and it works on that to!  :cool
