Does anyone know if this can be done ?

Parts manual seems to suggest it was available, but I have never seen them for sale anyplace.

Any ideas?

Yes it can be done.

I personaly fitted a 16" Spal fan from Demon Tweeks then i Drilled and tapped the water pump Housing and fitted a temp Sender, bit of wiring and its done.

have you tried Serching on the second gen section? i\'m sure this has come up before.
