Hi ya mate, i\'m not an expert on the FD but had very similar problem few years back. It sounds like you where overboosting (boost spike), did it feel like it was holding back at all and then powering up again?

When my car did this and i was dumping water like crazy, it was rebuild time for myself as i cooked the engine! Don\'t panic though i\'m not saying you have.

What mods have you got on it?

hey yea it felt like that, the cars running rx8 tips and seals hard pipes full blizt exshast system with de cat arc air filter and a few other things its been running spot on for the 3 months ive had it. it was serviced last month at wgt its done around 5000 miles

ive just been out to start it and it fired up firsts time with no problems

i have very similar setup, full decat system and induction kit included in that. It sounds like you could be running lean mate, can\'t say why it aint done it before though, are you running stock ECU? I had to get the power fc to fix this problem on mine.

I\'m afarid i couldn\'t say for sure what it is, but would be confident that if your running stock ECU with induction kit and decat system that running lean is your problem. I\'d be careful with this as it can cook the engine.

Actually just one other thing it could be is the ECU might have gone into limp home mode, to reset this disconnect the neg terminal on battery and push down brake pedal for 30sec and then reconnect neg terminal. Migh help, it\'s worth a try.

Hopefully someone with more experience will pick up on this thread and offer more technical advise. I\'m sorry i can\'t be of more help.

Cheers Stu

P.S check your HT leads are clean and not covered in gunk, as i had this happen and the spark somehow was arcing onto the outside of the HT lead.

Well i would change it anyway, it\'s not to explensive and you know it\'s done then. I would stay off boost though, until it\'s sorted. Ya don\'t want to risk anything bad happening. Best of luck though mate and keep us informed of progress.

Cheers Stu
