Had me 3rd Gen Rx7 1993 (auto) since May 2006 (purchsed from Broughton Group - Godstone)... and it\'s \'havin a bit of touble\' (to say the least!).

Any advice on the following would be much appreciated!

History:
New Parts: battery, alternator, air filter box.

Problem:
-Attempted to start New Years Eve. Non starter. Engine just not catching. Noticed smell of petrol.
-Called RAC. Initially suggested it flooded. Let fuel evaporate via spark removal. Sill unable to start.
-Toed to Garage. Neither their mechanic (non rotary) or two \'specialists\' know what the problem is. They managed to get it started with new sparks but report low compression. Someone suggested it could be the tips (don\'t like sound of that!).
-Tomorrow (Monday 15th Jan 2007) car is booked into Mazda for them to determine problem. Hear manufacturers are v v pricy.

Questions:
1) Any idea on what the problem may be?

2) Is there a definitive list of specialists on this site with locations? Haven\'t noticed one (apologies if I have missed it!).

3) If no list available any idea where a good rotary specialist is located as close to Croydon, Surrey as poss?

4) There isn\'t an online chat on this site is there? Seems a good idea to have one.

Any help with any of the above is much apprecited!

thanks

Steve

Do a search for "flooded" it sounds like you need to do a bit more than "Let fuel evaporate via spark removal." With a rotary when they flood eveny time you turn the motor over the injectors will blow more fuel in. Also there is three Baths per Rotor so even if one is dry two flooded ones have to pass the plug before it has its turn to fire (this will wet the Plug and cause it not to fire)

Thanks for the info Grizzly! RAC let the fuel evaporate via spark removal. They then toed it to my garage who have it at the moment. I think it needs to (and is probably best to) go to a rotary specialist as my garage are unable to determine what the problem is. Just need to find out where the closest decent specialists are from me (Croydon Surrey).
