air pump again

hi all,
still new to rx7\'s and still don\'t understand advice given regarding horrible noise coming from air-pump.
i have full decat exhaust and pfc and have been told if i remove air pump and replace with pulley kit car will have to be mapped slightly can i just unplug air pump meantime to stop noise without affecting map any advice appreciated

I too had a horrible noise from the airpump, have just disconnected the electric socket and it works fine. No problems or anything.

Iv\'e done the same as Gareth, no problems at all, in fact the tickover is much better,
