How to rev my rotary???

Hey Guys, can anyone tell me what i need to do to rev a rotary to bout 11000rpm? any info will be nice thanks. :evillaugh  :flamed

Welcome to MRC

If you\'re wanting to rev your engine that hard I\'d think you\'d be wanting to look into

Centre bearings (+ a two peice shaft to match)
tighter toleranced stationary gears ?
Lightened rotors to reduce the stress on the shaft
machined rotors for extra clearance to allow for shaft flex
Light apex seals (carbon?)
A clutch and flywheel that can cope with that sort of RPM without exploding
A gearbox that can take that sort of rpm
Porting that will make power at that RPM

having said that a renesis 13b isn\'t too far off that as standard ... those extra rpm\'s will be hard to get though ?

This is all based on things I\'ve read about so treat it as an idea rather than gospel :)

If you can find a book called "how to modify your Mazda RX-7", by Jim Downing, it will tell you everything Mike has told you, and more.

Why do you want to do this, by the way?

Simple route would be...

1) Buy an Apexi ECU
2) Set rev limit to 12000rpm
3) Press throttle until required revs are reached
4) Call for tow-truck to get you to nearest garage after engine grenades itself :)

Seriously though - it\'s an expensive set of parts to get a rotary to rev that highly and a specialist would give advice worth listening to.

Well thanks guys... Martiny, im from South Africa So rotary\'s are different here... Now i know of a high reving rotary here but its a track car, and since im into drags i want something that will run good time\'s here. I also like the sound of it revin that high... :cheers

I believe Martiny is from South Africa too....but i may be wrong. Pretty sure though.
