What would be a wise Stage 1/2/3/4 tuning package for the FD?

If you\'re setting off on a fairly inclusive tuning adventure then do it the \'right way\'; get the fuel system and engine management sorted out first. Consider your performance goals VERY CAREFULLY and source, build and install an adequate fuel delivery and management package. You cant go wrong from there...

1 - stereo & neons
2 - Alloys & suspension

so something along the lines of uprated fuel pump and secondary injectors along with a PFC to control the fuelling be a good start?

And then the real fun can begin. I think i\'d only want to go upto around 330bhp as i want to stay with the sequential twins. So what would you recommend?

Of course scope for more in the future might be nice.

Fish

OK, my idea of whats needed for 330BHP.

Apexi PFC or other adjustable ECU
Uprated fuel pump
Fluffy dice hanging from the rear view mirror
After market fuel pressure regulator
Cat less exhaust system
Neons/strobes pulsing with the bass note
Pimp tints

That should about cover it.

Dan

Oh also a set of brake pads that will stop you when required. ;)

mr_tim

Thanks - gives me some idea of what to aim for. not sure i\'ll be getting everything on your list though;)

Fish

Sorry, I must have been reading to many of OJ\'s posts. :p to the bish!

Stage one

Boost kept to 10-psi max

Radiator (alloy)
AST (Alloy)
Change thermostat
Change fuel filter

Stage 2

Ecu (PFC or Microtech, imo)
Cat back exhaust
Aftermarket down pipe (keep the cat)

Stage 3 looking at more boost 13-14psi max (stock twins)

Up rated pump (walbro 255 example)
1200cc but better off with 1600cc should you want to go to Stage 4
Fuel Reg.
ECU re-map
Intercooler upgrade
Intake (not really needed, stock one does a great job)

Stage 4

Single Turbo conversion (all the goddies)
Decent Clutch
Modified fuel rail (1600cc)
Resistor if running PFC ecu (change injector imp)
Boost controller
Mid pipe replacing CAT
Re-map

Stage 5

Engine rebuild..... To your preference, yum yum....

Possibles to remove....

Air Pump
Power Steering

Possibles to fit

Electric water pump, replacing stock water pump.

That should be it..... Not mentioned Brakes and Suspension.

Hope that helps.

Regards....
