I have this red light on, I think the oil is low, does anyone know what oil to use and where to get the oil filter from and also spark plugs?

Is this a normal halfords job, or do I have to order these parts from a special company?

Thanks

You \'think\' the oil is low?????????:(

Don\'t move it until you have checked the dipstick!

You really should be checking your oil level everytime you fill up, NEVER EVER run with a low oil level.

Pop to Halfords and pick up a good mineral oil - look for 10w 40.

Oil filters are a very common Japanese micro filter and they will have these too.

You should be doing an oil and filter change every 3000 miles.

Please let me know its not the oil pressure warning light........

I know you had to change the oil every 2500mile s I was going to get it done anyway as I have only just bought the car,

The red light is on the oil pressure gauge Its between 0 and 4 on idle, so this light is on because the oil is low??

do you recommend a good brand of oil ? so I need to get 10/40w non-synthetic?

The oil pump is very reliable on these engines, so the warning light is very probably low oil level....

tut, tut.....

i will buy some today then

i was reading on another post that castrol GTX mineral Oil non-synthetic is good so i need a 10/40 w of this oil ?

(sorry for all these questions but i know these rx7 s are real picky when it comes to oil. i just want to get it right)

Thanks

go for Castrol GTX3 mineral oil. You will get it in 15W/40 only. Not the cheapest mineral oil, but very good for rotary.

Where do these oil filters live and how easy is it to change them?

maximtaylor

Look under your intake elbow on passenger side of car - there it is!

If you\'re lucky, you can loosen it by hand! If not, then taking the elbow off makes it easier to loosen.

Easy peasy job :)

Hmm, intake elbow on passenger side....sorry I am a real amateur, could you point it out on the attached image?

Shaq

if you look at the silver thing on your engine its under that on ur right should be a black cylinder shape.
