Hi all,
Does anyone know if this a standard ECU?   If it is , how do you add a chip for extra fueling, I\'ve heard of M2 or Petit?
I\'m looking for something simple and safe upto about 0.85 bar,  but cheaper than an Apexi FC , just something to richen it up a bit at high boost. Any suggestions appreciated.
(BTW, I\'ve heard the PFC base map is not as rich as the stock ecu upto 0.7 bar)

Looks like a stock ecu to me, as for chipping it i have no idea, how about just getting an apexi ecu?
There are performance cars and then there is the RX-7...........

12.3 second 1/4 mile, terminal speed of 122mph (1st ever drag run on a TO4R)

engine built by....... umm me! now powered by a T51 Kai......

Not wise to chip it. ECU\'s that you cannot change the fuel/ignition on can be a bad idea. Plus the fuel quality used in other countrys is different to ours.

Open it up and see if there is a daughterboard/piggyback board on it. Then it is chipped.

Yes, the PFC map is leaner than the stock in some areas.

PFC base map is for Japanese fuel anyway, so logic says you should be WELL rich with a chipped ECU, provided it has been mapped for a car with similar mods.

Also, Japanese fuel 100 octane, Optimax 99 octane

Agreed PFC has much more flexibility, but chipped ECUs are a good cheap option for stage 1 type mods.

Nearly forgot, this is something like what you should see.

Most chipped ECUs have badges/labels on the outside as the Japanese are big on packaging etc.

chips can be very very car specific ok in one pop in another i wld never trust a chip unless specific to my car and mods..in these cars in uk apexi is the only way to go..in states/aus they use other ecus but no one does over here
