I was just chatting to a mate who said he drove a FC RX7 a few years back.
he said that he seems to remember that there was no engine braking on lift off, is this right?? If so is it still the case with FD?

I can engine break my FD.

No it\'s not right.
I wonder if the FC he drove was an auto, in which case there would be no engine braking in \'D\' , unless you pull the stick back to \'2\' .  Usefull when braking very hard!

yeah, that could be the case, I did think it sounded unusual.
Any more comments would be appreciated :)

from my expereince you dont get as much engine braking with rotary\'s as with boingers as the inertia created witht eh rotary is alot more stable than the motion within a piston engine....

and you will also find that it will hold a constant speed when going down a hill alot better than the guy who is constantly on his/her brakes in the boinger...

to say you dont get any engine braking is a lie but i feel it is alot less than those piston thingameejiggs

OK, so with that in mind is lift off oversteer less of a problem??

its like lemster said, so lift off oversteer isnt really a problem.
