I need to get my airpump and alternator off, but there seems to be something holding them onto the points that they hinge at.

What is this holding them and how do i release it?

The bolts????

No seriously;), the alt and air pump can be a bit of a tight fit on the block so make sure all the bolts and wires / pipes are disconnected then gently tap (use a soft rubber mallet) and wriggle side to side said item until it comes free.

when i took the air pump off it was really tight in between the top mounting lugs, ended up using a small pry bar to ease it off.

Bobfish

was there a small metal bar or anything in the holes holding it on?

NixRX7

Nope, there was just the top and bottom bolt on the air pump and that was all.
Like i said tho, it was a very tight fit.

Check to make sure there\'s no wires still connected to it before you start wrenching it out... but, like the other guys have said - these two parts do just need a lot of brut force and ignorance to get them off.
