I\'m thinking of buying a \'92 RX7 that has lost compression and presumably requires a rebuild. I must suspect the worst.
To help me decide on a reasnable price for the car, can anyone answer the following.

If the rotors and chambers are ok and all I need are rotor seals and gaskets + any other parts that must be replaced during rebuild, could anyone give me a guide price for parts? I\'ll do the work myself, or as much as poss.

Also, if I require a rotor and chamber, how much is usually charged for used items and are they readily available?

Thanks,
Andy.

For rebuild kits, you\'re probably best off sourcing them from the states. There\'s a company called rotary aviation who are supposed to be sh*t hot, they even do a re-build video...defo a must if you\'re gonna tackle the rebuild yourself.
As for good second hand rotor housings/end plates/rotors, then any of the vendors at the top of the page should be able to help you out. No idea on the price tho. I\'d be wary of getting a car who\'s engine has died due to detonation/apex seal failure. If the shattered seal comes out of its seat, it can do huge amounts of damage to the rotor and housing (and the turbo\'s too if it gets spat out of the exhaust port). Thing is, these cars seem to be getting so cheap (thanks mainly to ebay) that you can pick up a decent car with a tired (but still fully functioning engine) for little more than a car with a blown engine. That\'d be a much better place to start.
