Stu,

CE28\'s will look excellent, or perhaps some TE37\'s. We can supply both at discount prices :D

I reckon your car would look best with some 18" BBS LM\'s, but they\'re bloody expensive to buy

Anyway, here\'s an old pic of my car with the BBS LM\'s I had fitted to it before. They\'re now donated to our project car, which should come out of wraps sometime next year ;)

You\'re a bad influence Miguel :)

Decided to stick with the Gram Lights for now, if the wheels had been standard I\'d be more keen to replace them but I really like the look of the 57Cs.

Not too keen on the BBS multispoke look overall, although they do look good on your car. Is it gonna be up for sale when the new one\'s ready then? :D (wishful thinking)

Het Stu, mines pretty much stock with 17" gold AVS , pic below

Not for sale...Ever :) :) !

The project car\'s a thinly disguised single tubby race FD3S registered for the road in UK. WGT are preparing it, but it\'s shortly going to MW Bodyshop for a full make over, including interior and engine bay paintwork :)

I may be around for Rotorstock in 2006, if there\'s track action to use it in. I\'m not a drag racer, though....just not my thing. It\'ll probably be used for a GT race series in the UK, if it fits the mould...

Miguel ...Firstly, as a Lover of FD\'s, I would very much like to say that your RX-7 is one of, if not the, BEST Modified RX-7 I have EVER seen.

Congratulations!

However, I believe that its not actually a Series 8 but rather a Series 7 or 6?

Miguel

Thanks :D :D :D

Not sure by what you mean about series...It\'s a 1995 FD3S-30XXXX model, previously fitted with an 8 BIT ECU (Apexi FC is 16 BIT of course).

Best Wishes,

Miguel.

WOW! Quick reply! :p

Alright... Now you\'ve probably seen my other rude-opinionated posts, and most of them are in reference to the fact that I admire the \'stock-like\' styling of the RX-7; that is to say, like that of how it came out of the factory. I dislike many of the exterior modifications people do to a car that I love so much, and sacrilegiously replacing the pop-up head lights! :(

Anyway, onto the series of RX-7\'s...

Series 6 - 1992 to 1995
Series 7 - 1996 to 1998
Series 8 - 1999 to 2002

Both 6 & 7 visually looked the same, whereas the 8 featured the \'revamped\' appearance. One characteristic of it was the fog lamps your front bar features. :D

Differently, there were lots of performance and other assorted changes made which I\'m sure you’re aware of.  :)

Here is one excellent resource of information about the History of RX-7\'s - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RX-7

Otherwise, I am very very interested in both yourself and your car. I have been following up for information about you for the past couple years, which kinda makes me an e-stalker :rollin ...But anyway, I would very much appreciate it if you could pass on my details about your RX-7 and the modifications you have done to it. I\'ve noticed that you\'ve got a scoot bonnet, that I normally don\'t like in most cases, but on your 7 its quite an exception! :D

Otherwise I do have some other pictures (Only 10 :( ) of your 7 which I\'ve obtained a couple years ago... Such as the one below of your very impressive engine bay. :cool

EDIT: Oh wow! Just noticed I have serveral more pics of your 7 I didn\'t know I had! :p ...They have different rims.

One other note I would like the make mention of, I once found a feature article in a performance car magazine about you and your 7 a year or so ago here in Canberra newsagency, but to my regret I did not purchase it at the time and I missed out! :(

Argh picture didn\'t work...

Also of note, the best modified RX-7 engine bay I have ever seen!

Now, to keep this thread back on topic... Here is a pic of  Miguel\'s 7 with a nice set of bronze rims that I\'m not aware of. :(

Miguel

Thanks again for the compliments :D

The engine bay\'s changed a bit since that picture was taken, as it now has a Knight Sports SS480 turbo kit fitted. Note the air pump is retained too. Here\'s a pic I took today.

The oil catch tank became a necessity when oil started to "Blow by" the oil ring on the oil filter mount where it mates to the engine. This happened at the car\'s first trackday with the new turbo fitted. Teething troubles, I guess... Funny enough, it wouldn\'t do this on the road, only at the track, at sustained maximum throttle, when not braking, I guess.

The pic you have there was prepared by Russ, a.k.a. Rextreme...It\'s a photoshopped image...Can\'t imagine I\'d ever want to run the car that low anyways. :D

How much was the turbo kit, if you dont mind me asking?

I have the same intercooler as well so might think of getting the same set up or HKS T04R not quite sure yet.:p

Miguel, How can you keep your engine bay so clean all the time, do you wash it everyday:rollin

Miguel

First off, Stu - sorry for the thread hyjack here...Maybe we sould start a new thread, about my RX-7 if people would like to ask questions, etc. This is supposed to be about Silver cars with Bronze wheels, not my RX-7 :D :D

As I paid to have all the work done by Knight Sports, in addition to fitting a dual friction clutch kit and lightened flywheel, I can\'t remember the raw cost of the turbo kit itself, but it may be quoted on www.neweraparts.com

If not, request a quote and we\'ll get back to you with this.

The Knight Sports 480SS turbo kit is based on a TO4E unit, but is all prepared in-house by Knight Sports (You can see their turbo dyno at work on our first DVD - Skylines & Skyscrapers). Remember this is a high quality unit with special solid bearings (For least possible friction - shaft floats in jets of oil, so it doesn\'t have to move balls, or rollers), as well as a water jacket to aid reliability.

My best advice is - Don\'t be tempted by cheap turbo kits sourced through the States, etc. Quality of these is not the same, by a long shot.

The engine bay gets washed occasionally, but the car\'s always garaged and often under a cover to avoid dust settling on the bodywork It also gets used mostly in good weather, although if it rains on trackdays, I\'ll still drive it - it\'s more fun in the wet anyways. :D
