can someone just have a check of my engine spec please

Hi all...

Well ive had my rex on the road now for about 2 weeks and am loving every min of it

Before i got the car the previous owners had the engine rebuilt at RC developmants,can someone just read through my spec list and advise if i would benefit from any further upgrades..

greedy intercooler kit
hyper single clutch
apexi power fc ecu
uprated fuel pump
fuel preassure regulator
irridium spark plugs
full engine gasket set
apexi cat back system
front pipe
apex-i tipps
oil pump chain
oil metering line
bolts to housing
apexi induction kit
all new seals

Now im off over to nemesis performance in the morning to get a  FC commander as i have no gauges etc, i did look into the defi range but stoped working it out at £400!!!

Id like to do a few track days this year but dont fancy blowing my engine so any advice would be much appriciated

what turbo/injectors are u running.water injection wld be a good idea to help grd against detonation.what boost are u running as well.apexi commander is good for keeping eye on injector duty cycle and intake temp but defis are worth the money as werll especially for the bling factor

Well its still got the twin turbo setup and does not say anything about them on the recipt from rc developmants so i can just presume they are standard..as for boost again i have no idea as i have no gauges until i get the commander in the morning...are the commanders model specific,eg could i fit a commander from a scooby for example to my ecu?

exactly what spark plugs, brand model etc, are in there. I recall talk that some were bad for the rotary so just wanting to triple check?

Dont think RC do engine rebuild on RX7 :confused:

The Commander is specific to the ECU (and model specific too), do a search on this forum first before buying one, there\'s a thread somewhere.

Get the car tested and dynoed at a specialist (see links top of the page) before considering buying anything else (other than the commander). Is the cat still on btw?

You have an Aprilia or something? (Aprilia RS125, etc).

well i went and got the commander today  from nemesis performance ( i highly recommend them ) and fitted it for my journey home...

what is standard boost for a tt rx7 because mine only boost\'s to .8 bar,is this normal..

The cat is still on..will this make alot of diference if i remove it?

Found my water temp went up to 108 c whilt coming back around the m25 but this was giving it some , goes down to 97 ish when driving normally..is this ok?

The temp sounds slightly above average but nothing to worry about I\'d have thought.

If you wanted to replace the cat with a throughpipe then pop it into a specialist, get them to do it and get the engine re-mapped whilst you\'re there so you\'re not running leaner.

If you\'re not sure if the Oils been changed in the past 3k, then change that.

Sparks I think 6k(?), so if you\'re not sure then change them too.

Not sure what else, but plenty of threads around that will help I\'m sure.

Post up what the commander shows for injector duty, knock, everything else etc.. btw. Sure someone will let you know if they sound okay too.

Ok ive just been back out for a spin this time though a had a proper play with the commander...I had a look through the settings (did\'nt adjust anything) and found on the boost map its has 4 readings...  
 1 - .80                                      
  .70                                  
 2 - .90                                        
   .80
Looks pretty much like above...im guessing that these are the limits for both turbos as my max boost ive had on the display is now 0.85...

One thing that is bothering me is the air temp...around town/stuck in traffic it was up at 50+c but as soon as i was on an open road and opened it up this shot down to -30ish and at a constant 70mph it was -15c,is this wright

Ill hove a look at inj duty and knock later,ill have to take a mate with me so he can wright it all down as i go along

If your mate bottles out of being a passenger ( ).. then just view 8 channels in the monitor mode so you have most of them displayed then push up (or down, I never remember) on the controller, this will make the data shown with a dark background and should now show peak results only and keep it onscreen even when you\'re not moving, just don\'t kill the electrics.

Your boost settings are factory standard I believe btw.

Edit: If you don\'t have one, buy a Turbo Timer.
