Help !

Has anyone insured without any no claims ? I\'m 26 , no accidents or claims, 8 years experience, trying to get a quote on a 96 worth 8k.

The lowest I\'ve had is from Flux at £3594 fc. Elephant said they wouldnt touch me. Just waiting on a call back from Houghtons. I didnt think No claims was the be all and end all but I was obviously wrong !

Any tips on getting this one down or am I gonna have to get a loan just to pay for insurance ?

Are you after a classic policy or a normal daily driver policy?? Im 26 but could only get a real good quote on a classic car policy?

Yeah tried AON they wanted over £3k. I\'m so gutted. The only thing I can think of is that I\'m going to have to shelve the 96 and look for a 94 so I can get it on a classic deal.

I might give Tesco a try.

Thats what i did as im 26. I bought a 94 FD as a 2nd car and then insured it as classic. 620 quid with mods, and a 24 yr old miss\'s on the policy.

was the AON quote cause ity was the only vehicle you have if you have a 2nd i\'d expect them to do it as hte classic or future classic & be much better mine was in the 3 figues with them last year & that was when i was 26  on a 96 around the 13k figure, where the hell u get a 96 for 8k no dont tell me i\'ll cry :p lol, also try houghtons....
If you dont have a 2nd car might be worth getting a **** heap & doing it 3rd party or sumin even with my big claim im still paying less insurance on both the mondeo & RX7 put together than i was on the scooby & it\'s quite nice having a sh!tter to drive around for tedious journeys & when it\'s cr4p weather etc......Also pays for itself in petrol saving so all round 2nd car is a winner for me...

Yeah it was as the only car with AON might give them another try tomorrow then and ask for them to quote it as a second car. I need some no claims !!

I called Houghtons, they wont touch the 96 but out of interest  I got them to quote me on a Pug 205 gti (current banger) with a 94 RX on limited mileage and they came back with £449.95 !!!! Gotta find me a 94 !

A-Plan might be worth a try, won;t get anything super cheap but might get something reasonable.

that\'s the other winner with the classic/2nd car quotes is it doesnt use NCB so you can use or build up yer NCB on the banger.....

so how does this second car thing work? do you have to be registered on this other car and also be the policy holder or can you be a second driver on it???

will be needing insurance in about a month
