Insurance for a single turbo rx7

Right, as the car is on its way finally, insurance is needed...

brother is going to be getting it insured in his name, he is 25, aint got any no claims bonus but a full clean driving licence

car has following mods:
HKS T04R
will have Apexi pfc (fitting one straight away)
exhaust
filter
big intercooler
blow off
twin plate clutch
adjustable suspension
mazda speed wheels
full re-amemiya kit with vented bonnet
none flip up lights (dont kno the proper name to these)
anti roll bar
driver side bucket seat

thats all i can remember now?

where do i go for a good quote, classic car insurance would be good idea i think. car will be doing few miles...

also, will i need an alarm before any insurnace companies except it

Have you tried anywhere yet of the usual suspects in the insurance section lists?

PS i would add i recall talk of insurers being much more aware (read not likely to get away with it especially if it comes to claim time) of youngsters putting insurance on their folks policies when really it\'s for them i\'d be carefull if this is the kinda route your going, will the V5 be in the insured persons name?

havent tried anywhere yet, just wanted to know which companies would insure a modified rx at a resonable price. Bro is getting insured on the rx7 for collection and then he may drive it once or twice. i will be going on the rx7 at a later date...will be able to drive it on a third party basis until then though, doubt i will be driving it much though

You could give Aon a call. I have the Top Secret T88 single turbo, and quoted £593 on classic insurance, that includes all my mods haven\'t hidden anything from them, and club discount which has saved me way more than the £20 membership fee


But i am older at 32.... ....Could be worth a shot though, if you look through the threads there is a specific guy you need to ask for Adam Silvester (i think :confused: ) could be wrong but it is something like that.
