I\'ve just gone for a Clifford 650 - Is one of their new ones and is a cat 1.

Apart from the usual good stuff that Cliffords will do there is a handy option of a built in tubo timer.  Its set for a pre-determined time - which you can choose.  You push a button on the remote before switching off the ignition, get out arm the car as normal and walk away.  Handy if you are in a rush.

I still have the aftermarket turbo timer fitted still (not linked to the alarm) so with the auto feature you can check if it needs to run-on or not and if it needs longer than the minute that mine is set for.

Best of both worlds i guess...:)

think TT is an option on a few of their other concept units at least as well....personally i didnt bother with intelistart as well it\'d be in a garage anyway & i like sitting in me car so have no fears about doing so...;) lol

Dont go for the intelli start, when I had my concept 600 fitted in \'02 the installation guy told me that having intelli start was as good as removing the CAT 1 certificate.  ie, your insurers are likely to give you a hard time over it if any thing were to happen when it was used.

..im after an alarm that i can use when the car\'s cooling down....setting the alarm, locking the car but the car still running to cool down...

...any suggestions??? I normally drive sensibly for the last 5/10mins of the journey, but would like the above option...

Icesurf3r -  Must admit couldnt decide either.  I\'ve had the glass breaking sensor on my CRX but if the person knows how to break your glass properly this probably wont have any effect - got broken into twice

I went for the dual zone prox, however its rare that i would use the proximity sensors.  The last thing you want when parked at sainsburys or wherever is the alarm going off every 2 seconds when every nosey parker comes to have a look.  Yes i know you can switch it off with the remote but its a pain doing that every time. So the installer fitted a bypass switch so most of the time its off but its there when i need it.

leggysrx7 - See my bit about the turbo timer above.  Arm the alarm and walk away with the engine running :cool

yeah the TT on the clifford does all that.
I have heard some bad reports of cliffords but only when badly installed, often still by main dealers i guess, but i knew of a guy who uses name of Doctor Clifford on forums & he is just that!
If yer serrious about intellistart wood bear the insurance thing in mind, the thing which pisses me off about that is the fact that a fabulous item on cliffords which helps stop thefts/hijacking etc & reduces risk (namely blackjax) also technically removes yer thatcham rating as " Thatcham regulations prohibit engine shut down whilst the engine is running, regardless of circumstances. Therefore, enabling this feature invalidates Thatcham evaluation" Yeah real bad that having a device to stop thief driving car ooohhhh sounds risky
