You wont get to Dr Ienetti, Speak to Carl, his good friend. He will supply them to you, depending on which ones you want and the exchange rate about £1400-£1500 or give or take.

I was thinking i would not risk taking an rx7 to the Ring in case it lets go :(
Max and George have probably driven the ring as much as any one here - and they arent on ceramics, just standard 2 piece steel mazdas like the majority. Tuning is the key. Ceramics still break if u ping them enough. Sure they may live longer than some other seals but the key is to tune the thing so it doesnt detonate in the first place...

Cant say I\'ve used ceramics, and I know many people swear by them - but there are also a hell of a lot who dont have problems with and even prefer \'conventional\' seals.

I\'m not saying ceramics arent worth it, just that u shouldnt expect them to be indestructible - they break like any other seal if the tunings not right.

Are you intending on building your own motor?

and your Thoughts on ceramics

The major advantanges of ceramics are that they do not wear like the steel seals and also whilst not indestructable as Rich has said they are stronger than any steel seal.
If they do go due to poor tuning then they do cause damage to the engine but so do steels.
If you build your engine with ceramics seals then when the engine needs a refresh you can reuse them along with your rotor housings. You allways have to replace steel seals.
At the end of the day the tuning on any engine is important.Any engine will go wrong if not tuned properly.
Of course the down side is that they are expensive.not quite as much as Gary indicated for the one piece and about that  for 2 piece.
There are cars that have run both steel seals and ceramics that have had problems since going to Belgium and Germany, but once again the primary reason for this is likely to be tuning.
If you do build your engine with ceramics then tuning by a proffessional is probably the most important thing to be budgeted for.

Carl

P.S. Rich,thanks for your input.

Carl, I\'m interested in knowing more about ceramic seals before I collect my next Rex after Christmas which I intend to have some work done on. I\'d heard that ceramics are more likely to fail in an extremely short time (like instantly) if the engine dets as they shatter, and the ceramic pieces can take out a lot more than steel seals do when they melt. Is there any truth in this, only I\'m not sure how knowledgable the person who told me this is?

Again - no seal is indestructible - dont tune it wrong and your seals will be fine :)

If u have a spectacular failure the insides of your motor are likely going to be mince meat whether u have 3 bust steel seals per rotor, or 3 bust ceramics; the worst inside of an engine I\'ve seen was with ceramics but bust is bust at the end of the day - a major failure will likely wreck the lot regardless of seal material...

I will go for the poor mans sequential twin turbo bypass to
get the turbos working at the same time.
maybe i will get it ported too .

As for tuning .
I know a bit about mapping .
whats the best ECU option .
Do you guys Chip your ECU\'S (If so what programs do you use) or do you prefer a Apexi power FC route.

I know about runing with uberdata or Hondata and the principles are the same.

How much do you retard the ignition by on 98 Optimax ???
As I have been reading about tuning 91-93 Octane American eyerack Juice.

I have a very good wideband AFR meter with logging and i will use a EGT gauge too.
