Ok, toying with the idea about getting a single turbo convertion....but have no idea about any of it really!

So i figured i\'d ask about to get clued up a bit more!

Now, i don\'t want massive amounts of power, maybe a bit of 300. It\'s partially for a reliability thing really.

So, what kit is best? Where from? How much? what else will i need other then a turbo kit? Intercool i guess? Apexi ECU? Anything else I should know?

Who\'s best to go to to fit it? Anything else i should be aware of? Can I diy fit be done (My brother is pretty handy with a spanner), and then just require setting up?

For 300 its just not going to be worth doing imho.  You couldget that easily enough on the twins.

Ok, but lets pretend i still wanna do this...

in that case, in addition to the single turbo kit, you\'ll need:

Uprated Fuel Pump
Power FC
Uprated Secondary injectors
FMIC / Air Intake kit
Mid pipe / Cat Back exhaust

Not essential, but for reliability:
Aluminium AST (or remove it)
Uprated Radiator
Oil catch tank

Quite a shopping list isn\'t it? (and I\'ve probably forgotten something)

DRAGON

Uprated Fuel Pump
Power FC
Uprated Secondary injectors
FMIC / Air Intake kit
Mid pipe / Cat Back exhaust
PLUS
Clutch
FPR
Block-Off Plates
Obviously complete turbo kit
Protective Heat Wrap
Intercooler hoses may not be compatable between turbo and intercooler, so these may need to be fabed.

Cheers Ross - what sort of damage to the wallet is this likely to make, and how much can be done at home? i.e. Can I remove the original turbo\'s, etc and bolt on the new turbo kit, intercooler, etc and then just leave the ECU setup to the experts, or should the whole thing be left to the experts?

Freddy

I suppose on a budget, you can retain most of the stock set up and go for a pin dick turbo giving you around 260 rwhp.

If you buy a complete turbo kit it will include most of the hardware you need ;turbo, manifold, ic, all pipe work and all the bolts, but I\'m not sure if they come with up rated fuel parts or control. The kits can cost stacks as you will have no doubt read, if you trawl you can get the parts individualy cheeper but you get what you pay for.
Either way the 2+ grand you throw out for a kit still doesnt cover the rest of it, fuel parts and control. If you get a replacement ECU eg, microtech you can then change the other parts as they come in and adjust your settings as you do it.:cool
