Hi Guys. I\'ve found two cars that fit my criteria and look good from the pics and description but they are quite a way from me. I ideally want to get a compression test done before going to view.

Car 1 is in Dereham, Norwich
Car 2 is in Reading

Does anyone know the nearest specialist that would be able to visit the cars and carry out the test ?
Alternatively is a compression test something the AA can carry out as part of their inspection ?
Finally is anyone near these locations and would be willing to have a look at the cars with me should the tests come back ok.

Rotechniks is in Reading so that one should be relatively striaght forward.  No idea on Norwich.

I wouldnt bother with the AA, as they are not really very good and wont know what they are looking at.

For what its worth, I dont believe compression test results are the be all and end all.  Ive seen plenty of cars now in 2 years have good results and still have problems.

agree with Lee, AA inspection really won\'t help in my opinion.
Even if they (AA) are able to do a compression test, it won\'t be of any use as the procedure on a RX7 is totally different to a piston engine.
On a piston engine, you just plug the compression tester into each plug hole and crank the engine which tests the individual cylinders. On a rotary you\'ve effectively got three cylinders for each plug hole. If you try and test compression using a conventional tester, it won\'t show if one of those three \'cylinders\' is duff, only an overall reading for each rotor (three \'cylinders\').

Hope that makes sense, reading it back it looks confusing
