Chassis number nomenclature

Does the chassis number relate to the time when the car came off the production line?

I appreciate the first numbers relate to the revisions (eg FD3s4**** = 96-99, FD3s5***** = 99-00, FD3s6****=00-02), but what about the rest of the numbers? For example, if it were 600010 was the next RX 600011? Or was the number randomly generated?

And does anyone know what number the very last RX7 made carried?
