rear reflectors

hey fellas, ive seen some photos of cars in magazines a few with their side lights on and it looked like the rear (red) reflectors at the side of the car were also on! As mine dont light up i was wondering if they are indeed lights and only found on the imports or just a photographic piece of trickery:confused:

I think it was something fitted to US models only. Could be some sort of US legal requirement or something - perhaps one of our US members will confirm.

I was under the impression that they all had them on, but were removed to conform with the SVA tests:confused:

I test drove an FD a few weeks ago that had them on and working, so I asked him if it had actually had an SVA. He said no, because the car was older than 10 years.
