any ideas where I can get one of these things so I can plumb in my Oil temp gauge??

I need 1/8PT fittings, but can use adaptors I suppose if the fittings ain\'t quite perfect.

Seen one on Demontweeks for £70   surely you can get them cheaper than that.

any ideas?

no joy.  Any other ideas?

He does sandwich plates but only for oil cooler fittings and nothing that I can use

Basically I just want something to screw in where the oil filter does, that is tapped with a 1/8NPT thread on the side, and I\'ll screw the oil filter onto the top.

Like I said, demontweeks do a Greddy one for 70 smackers but that seems an awful lot.

Hi Gregor

People have been tapping into the bung on the oil cooler to fit their gauges, personaly l would not advise the sandwich plate or the remote oil filter route as l have now seen these spew lots of oil on more than one occation on FD\'s.

( real cheap way of loseing a damn expensive engine)

this is a what a friend did

remove the oil lever sensor plug and fit the temp gauge into that

if you check your oil every day - then this shouldnt be a problem

thanks

scooby_si

does anyone do it in the sump plug i\'m sure the scoobies used to do it that way & it used to get the lowest results so you knew it was warmed up if it was reading warm from there?

I presume that means taking the headlight assembly out to get at it then?

Try Speedflow products - they do the Mocal range.

I got mines from them, remember to ask for the blanking plugs and they will even tap whatever thread sizes you want. Its also a DIY job to fit.
