Just bought 1991 RX7 turbo convertible (new to rotaries), great car with no rust but hood ripped at sides and small tear on top of soft section of hood. Are repairs possible or worth it?

I\'ve sourced an after market vinyl hood for £325+VAT from a company called European Trimming. Has anyone used this company or can you suggest a better one?

Cheers

hi. the price does not include fitting.  Is this a good price? do you know how much it will cost to repair it roughly?

thank you for replying. I hope you get this message as my husband is at work and I am trying to work out this bloody computer in his absence.

ha ha ha no probs !

to be honest i dont have a cab - mine is the standard coupe version

the hoods are prone to going on the sides - i think its a fault

from what im lead to believe they are a royal pain in the rear to change yourself

maybe your best bet is to see if the company can fit it for you

failing this have a look in yellow pages and see if there are any companies that will fix yours - maybe cheaper

try and find someone who deals with classics rather than new cars

accroding to mazda is 405 for the softtop ( rear section ) + vat - so your price isnt tooo bad i suppose

there is thead a few down from this all about the soft top and how to change it

good luck

stu

many thanks. yes think I have finally worked out this computer and hopefully managed not to delete or wipe to much of its memory!

Yes think we will probably replace the hood. we have a number of a fitter who is local to us and are going to see him at the weekend.  Just another quick question please and then I promise to log off.  We have a slight tear on the driver seat at the side seam do you know a repairer who can fix this who is reasonable price or any tips on doing it ourselves.

Many thanks

the seat - no idea - just find a local leather person , they could probably stitch it ( if its stitchable ! )
