Had my car broken into the other night. Ripped out my head unit and had away with the amp and subs.
Passenger window smashed to bits so I desperately need a replacement as anyone can get in it now. Having said that the bin bag currently filling the void may well be better at protecting my car than the cat 1 alarm which was yanked out from under the bonnet leaving my car well and truely immobilised.

So if there is anyone in the north London area that has a spare window for sale I will gladly take it off your hands.

Thanks

3rd generation RX-7's / Water leak
March 04, 2011, 10:21:54 PM
Leave the car for a week and something has either broken itself or stopped working.
I now have a water leak. As i top up the water it drips straight out from just below/behind the pulley. What is the cover directly behind the pulley and are replacement gaskets available from somewhere?
thanks

Insuring your rotary / Insurance going up?
November 04, 2010, 01:57:44 PM
Mine has also gone up by nearly 25% from Peter Best. Dead happy last year when i got it insured for £352 fully comp but this year they want £434.
Life is never fair but its no wonder there are countless uninsured drivers out there.

3rd generation RX-7's / A days hard graft
May 25, 2010, 07:42:22 AM
the show was only 2 miles up the road - by the time i got there it had a film of dust on it thick enough to write your name in!

i got myself a machine polisher to do most of the hard work. did the same thing last year and it came up a lot better than this time - think i rushed it a bit and didnt have the right polishing pads.
car is an awkward shape to polish - you need lots of small pads to do the job properly

3rd generation RX-7's / squealer pipe?
May 22, 2010, 07:37:28 PM
assuming you have all the bits in place as stated above it wont cost much - literally just a bit of pipe a few inches long.
makes a pretty impressive sound but not advisable for those with sensitive ears!
Before the screamer mine just vented into the atmosphere which i actually prefered the sound of although i believe thats not recommended depending on who you talk to

Got a Exedy Hyper Single on mine. Couldnt really afford a twin plate at the time but this seems to be doing the job nicely although I dont give it too much abuse. Running about 360 or so on a single turbo

2nd generation RX-7's / Which battery for fmic
January 03, 2010, 06:06:42 PM
Id get it re-located or shell out for an Optima. My battery is still in the front but due the FMIC its really small and i think recommend for a Micra. Its a Varta which is better than my last one but is still flat if i leave it longer than a week without use.

Insuring your rotary / Peter Best Insurance
November 27, 2009, 05:07:29 PM
Just renewed my FD insurance with Peter Best. Paid £800 with Sky last year and they wanted £830 this year so no way was i going with them again.
Im now very happy with the £366 im paying with Peter Best. Single turbo and all mods declared with a £300 excess.
Even better is its on a classic insurance policy so i can transfer my 10yrs no claims to my other car. Result!

Its possible to fit two 8" subs in the boot without compromising luggage space but takes a bit of planning and calculating to get the right volume.
They work really well too and add to the overall sound without being overpowering - when the engine isnt running! otherwise the bass gets drowned out by the Nur Spec - something to consider

I. C. E. & Electrical / Rear speaker fitting??
November 02, 2009, 06:07:01 PM
once unscrewed they should just prise off with a screwdriver as they are also glued into place. just replaced mine and they were dead easy - hardest part was getting all the trim off without breaking it

General Technical / Trouble starting
March 14, 2009, 02:07:14 PM
all connections to the new starter motor seem fine but i went out to look at it the other day and the dash lights were really dim and there wasnt enough juice to turn the lights on. tried jump starting it from another car but still wouldnt start.
Went back out again today and there was nothing at all when i turn the key - no sound no lights nothing. took the battery out put it on charge but apparently its fully charged.
So i connected up a jump starter unit and immediately all the electrics were working but still the car wont start. just an initial \'click\' when you try the first time then after that nothing at all.
it was fine during the 1000 mile run in but since it went back to be mapped, and have boost controller and starter motor fitted it hasnt worked. trouble is now its at home and i cant start it, i cant take it back to have it seen to.
looks like i need to sort it out myself so i desperately need some help...
