Quotelittle devils pop out from the rear riding flaming horses and swallowing passing children!
Now if you\'d have said "swallowing women AND children" I\'d have been very impressed! :D
I suppose I\'ll have a comparisson costs wise, if I end up with a few options, and then take it from there.

QuoteI reckon it was probably as loud as the Nur spec I had on my FD when I got it!
Ah! Bugg3r!  :( Had a Nur Spec on my old FD and it used to leave me as a hollowed out shell of a man after a few hours driving!

QuoteJust fitted exhaust cutout valves on mine and depending on ECU they could easily be made into a automated system.
Having just parted ways with cash for the FD I\'m not so sure I could stretch to having someone put together a bespoke valved system at the mo. Though on an F-CON I\'d assume it\'s possible.

Would that not be something like what the Apexi PS Revolution purports to be doing though, but off the shelf?

Blitz Nur-Spec FTW! lol

QuoteI think the problem is with the agressive looking exhausts you tend to get the agressive exhaust note to go with it :o

That\'s kind of the reason for the thread... I thought that there must be something that\'s a little bit of a compromise. :)

QuoteIf it helps i had a HKS Hyper (dont know if they do a RX7 exhaust mind) on my MR2 which had the big can look whilst being very quiet also

Had a quick look at it seems as though these are now what are called HKS Silent Hi Power exhausts. "Certain applications are available in a Silent Hi-Power version which has an inner silencer built into the muffler." (Web blurb!)
They do one for the FD: 31019-AZ002. I wonder if anyone has had any experience with these?

The current exhaust is an unknown make with oval muffler and tip. Not standard but not free flowing enough. Am running a TO4R with 300bhp at the mo.

Have seen the Racing Beat exhausts as someone else suggested that they were quiet but with good flow, but am a little non-plussed at the look to be honest. If I\'m changing the thing I wouldn\'t mind going for something a little more agressive looking...

That being said, if there\'s no other option, it may have to be that route.

@ Ghost: The buy it now is £60 on that... Not bad at all...

Hi peeps,

Have just returned to the world of 3rd Gen ownership after a 4 year lay off and had my new pride and joy dyno\'d a few days ago.

The current exhaust, whilsy blistfully quiet compared to the beast I had on my old RX, is unfortunately restricting the gas flow considerably from the single turbo setup and hence leaving me down on power.

Would anyone have any suggestions of the most "quiet" cat back system I could go for please?

Also, has anyone used an Apexi PS Revolution with active valve as this seems to be the best of both worlds. (I\'ve had several motorcycles with similar systems and they worked fine).

Greetings and thanks in advance! :wiggle

It\'s on a car I\'m looking at buying so I\'m not sure as to the extent of the replacement. It looks to me like a similar one to what I had on my old Rex (Sold it to buy a Porsche - Worst decision ever! Am currently rectifying that mistake!) so it\'s probably the entire system inlcuding cat back I think.

Was asking as if the guy who\'s had has been running it on that system for 5k miles and it should have been remapped how much possible damage could have been done? Don\'t want to buy a howler as I got lucky the last time I bought an FD considering i new nothing about them then.

Oh, and thanks for the welcome! :driving Been visiting the forum for years, just never posted before!

Hey peeps,

Just wondering if it\'s advisable to get a remap after fitting an aftermarket performance exhaust?

(engines on approx 5K miles)

Cheers,
