3rd generation RX-7's / Whats this switch for?
April 10, 2013, 10:56:40 AM
Took the FD for it\'s MOT, it passed the emission part :) but failed as there was no indication that the fog light was on.

As i\'ve never used the car in fog never used the fog light, anyway as the car is an import it never had one from the factory but a switch which looks Std is used as the fog light switch.

What was this switch used for original?

On the rear it has 4 connectors only 2 are used and what looks like a light it but this doesn\'t come on,

Any ideas? can the light be made to come on.

I\'ve owned this car since 2007 when it was my daily driver, then it was a std twin turbo car. A change in Job in 2008 meant it became a weekend toy and the serious modification started.

Selling it now as I never use it, it just sits in the garage. In 2006 it had 59Kmiles on it now it has 75K. 15k miles in 7 years is a waste my daily driver does that in 10 months, in the last year 25% of the miles added were to get the MOT done.

Rebuilt engine back in 2009 with large street port by Kerim at Powergains, mapped by Jaydee. Engine itself was fine but i wanted more power and couldn\'t get it from the standard turbos and engine. So had the engine rebuilt and ports to get the most from the GT4088 turbo. Hate heavy clutch pedals so went for a Carbonetics twin plate clutch. I don\'t know the power of the car but it\'s enough, running 1.1 bar max currently.Car is loud, louder still once wastegate opens which is great for tunnels.

3rd generation RX-7's / Apexi PFC and speedo/rev reading
November 08, 2012, 08:43:49 AM
Mine is a 99 spec car, so already went for the new cluster route but at between £400 -£800 for a second hand set I\'d decided to try a repair instead.

Had a problem where rev would go to 6 o\'clock then drop to where they should be but it was accurate when it wasn\'t doing this. Then more recently it would sit at 800rpm when the engine was off. Sent it off to be repaired and came back with the speedo reading 15+mph when stationary.

Had a rather heated conversation with them as now the speedo will fail MOT.

3rd generation RX-7's / Apexi PFC and speedo/rev reading

Both my speedo and rev counter don\'t sit at 0 with ign on but engine off. So of course they both read high once engine is running and i\'m moving. Speedo is 15mph when standing still and rev counter is at 850rpm. Can I use the  PFC to correct this ?

3rd generation RX-7's / Screamer pipe?
September 21, 2012, 10:23:19 AM
Got a screamer on mine GT4088 an easy way to imagine the noise is think of it as a foot long unsilenced exhaust as that is pretty much what it is. I\'ve no idea how loud it is in db but it is alot louder than running with the wastegate closed.

Had a Blitz Nur on mine, it was fine on a std ported engine. Once it was ported it was awful really tinny. Change to a Greddy in under a week as hated driving the car with the Nur on.

I came from Supra, Evo and Skyline ownership though the others were fun the weight of my FD I love.

I have 2 question 1) will at JAE ticket be required as last year for the September tunnel run and 2) what as happens the the Missbanzai.com site it\'s got a mobility scooter as the home page?
