Thanks for the info mate

I checked their site.. there\'s only 1 tiny pic and little info

I live overseas so calling them wasn\'t really an option

I am running the KIA, more boost to come and more power. Ran out of injector duty at 1.2 bar. Need to change prim injectors to 850\'s and change my sec injectors from 1680\'s as well. That will be later this year.:eek

General Technical / Intercoolers?
February 24, 2007, 11:04:08 AM
Quote from: WarthogI have the PWR Intercooler as part of the RE:WORX V-Mount set up, it\'s huge. The set up in this months weather gives me 10.1 degs intake temps on high boost laying down 556 fly-470 wheels. It\'s a fantastic system. HTH:wave

could you provide some more details about ur V-mount setup?

how much did it cost? do they sell it as a kit or you must bring your car there?

does it include everything? radiator piping IC brackets etc?

do u have pics?

are u running an SPL or KAI?

Thanks

General Technical / What is wrong with this intercooler?

generally it\'s known and accepted that they\'re not as effecient..

they usually use a Less dense fin design.. and have good Pressure drop results

but they\'re cooling effectiveness is less..

but for the amount of money u save.. u can get a much larger core to compensate.. and/or spend the difference on other places in the car..

the FD has an ebay SMIC kit which is pretty good.. it only lacks a proper ducting shroud... which can be easily fabbed from sheet metal or FGR

it depends on what you plan on using the car for really

this is a standard mass produced in a sweat shop in china intercooler

while the unit\'s themselves are not that bad for 80% of us

The down side is that it\'s universal

so you have get your own piping made,

alot of the FMIC kits come with:

Core with properly facing inlet/outlet
Mounting brackets/hardware
Piping
silicone Couplers
Good clamps
power steering relocation kit (sometimes)
Guaranteed fit and finish

and of course your partially paying for the brand name and R&D expenses

basically if you don\'t mind getting your hands dirty, have access to a mandrel bender, know a good welder and have alot of free time.. go for it.

If your time is more valuable.. and u want a kit u can put in ur driveway in an afternoon straight outta the box ... you may want to consider the Full kits...

you may think your saving alot with an Ebay core.. but once u add the other expenses of parts and labor... There\'s not always much difference..

General Technical / Apexi PFC + FD without tuning

The base map for the FD is made conservative and safe

it\'s designed for bolt ons basically..

so that means.. Intake, Exhaust/Downpipe and Intercooler.. and the associated increase in boost...

by Running the Ecu.. you wont Grenade your motor..

but you will be running rich in the top end.. and wont be maximizing your horsepower or Fuel economy...

assuming your Fuel system is up to standard.. your A/F\'s will be hovering in the 9\'s.. @ WOT
