Quote from: m1tch;514642Could that possibly be a bearing on 1 of the ancillaeries wearing out? or perhaps the powersteering pump? I know my powersteering pumps wines a lot cause it has no fluid.

Actually it could be a lack of power steering fluid, it does need to be topped up, ill give that a shot, thanks.

Over the past few week the car has been a bit jumpy at idle sometimes, I assumed the problem was just the plugs. But since yesterday im hearing a strange sound sometimes when the idle is jumpy.

The sound quality in the vid isn\'t great so it\'s probably not obvious but anyone got any ideas?

Quote from: kev-yorksWhen it does go acidic

Anyone know what makes it turn acidic?

Quote from: interloper393hey bud iv got the pink stuff in mine, altho its safe to use, it got acidic after a year so needs changing regular, but coolent should be changed once a year anywho :).. so your fine :yes

Thanks, how were ye able to tell that it got acidic? Do ye know if it corrodes anything like aluminium plastic or rubber? Should I just flush it and put in the blue stuff?

ust wanted to make sure, I used an ethaline glycol based coolent (its pink). Someone just told me I should use the blue coolent. I have blue coolent which is also ethaline glycol based. Does it make a difference? I thought it just has to be glycol based?

Awesome thanks Mark. Where\'s the best place to find Apexi PFC\'s? Ebay?

RHDjapan.com - I found it as cheap as Nengun but much faster delivery. PFC took less than 2 weeks even though it was not in stock when ordered

Quote from: CarlHi,
If you mean when the weather is cold as well, that would be jsut the oil needing to be warmed up.
Regards
Carl

Ye the weather is cold as well, should the oil being warm make such a big difference? I only notice the problem when switching to first or second gear. Do you think the clutch could be fine then?
#11
For the last while im finding it harder to find gear when the car is cold. I don\'t have a problem once the car warms up. Does this make sense to anyone why this would be happening? I assume it means the clutch is on it\'s way out?

Quote from: leonAs someone said, i dont think there is a definative test except taking the cat off the car and shaking/upending it. when i did mine half of its guts fell out onto the floor.

i do know a symptom can be that the cat will overheat in trafic causing the heat warninglight to come on, perhaps also a rattle from the lose baffles inside? hope that helps :Thumbs-up

So basically you just take off the midpipe and give it a good shake? If it was a bit broken up would the bits not be flying out of the exhaust anyway (avoiding the need to check it)

The car looks nice, the bumper wouldn\'t be my thing at all though, too much contrast from the smooth look of the standard car. As for the front bumper, if they say thats the best they can do id take it back and tell them to sort it out. When I first seen the pic I thought that they hadn\'t sprayed it yet.
Its very obviously a different colour and ruins the car

I wouldn\'t mind seeing a seroius answer to this question myself

Quote from: RemarkLimaYeah, I think there\'s a seperate chamber just for the air pump and it goes through the air box to cut down mooing noises.

This pipe does not go to the airpump though, it just seems to attach to nothing
