Cars for Sale / Kazama kitted fd

If you did end up having to break it, I\'d be interested in the block, clutch and diff.
I do hope someone buys the whole car tho. GLWTS.

Quote from: mike01;795433I\'ve got the same problem and am now changing the bearing on the tensioner pulley. Have already changed the PS pump - that made absolutely no difference.

Right. Changed the bearing, refitted the pulley to correct tension and tightened the retaining nut as per workshop manual instructions. And now the belt is squealing worse than before.

Any advice or suggestions gratefully received :Thumbs-up

Just a thought, is your engine completely standard or does it have any aftermarket bits?

I\'m certainly no expert. My Fd is a single turbo so wouldn\'t be much of a comparison.

I\'d definitely get a reputable specialist to give it a look over. WGT is the nearest to us and they have a very good reputation.
I\'d recommend trying to find out as much as you can about the chap in Brum who you\'re planing to get to map the Apexi for you. If it was me I\'d want to speak to people he\'s done work for and get some confidence that he knows what he\'s doing before going ahead with it.

I think WGT would be your nearest rx specialist, Aron. They\'re in Cheshire.

Insuring your rotary / Insurance renewal

Give REIS a go, they love mod\'d cars.
I changed from Adrian Flux to REIS this year and saved £400.
[32yr old, 5 yrs NCB, heavily modded FD (~400rwhp)].
Quote was Fully comp...even includes 4 days track day cover. Can\'t say fairer than that ;o)

General Technical / Power steering removal
July 24, 2011, 01:33:46 PM
I\'m thinking of removing the power steering from my fd and was wondering if anyone here had done it. Is it a straightforward job?

Reason for the removal is mainly that the aux drive belt died recently and I had to drive the 150 miles home without power-steering. The lack of ps was hardly noticeable at 50+mph but was hard work at low speed because I was working against the pump. So, I\'m thinking it should be fine to drive without.

Any obvious reasons why I shouldn\'t?

Cheers,
Mike

I\'ve got an HKS Hi Power cat-back system with a screamer mid pipe. The whole system is pretty much Ø3" all the way and straight, so very loud. I\'m hoping to get a noise test organised in the next couple of weeks but I\'m sure its too loud for UK track days.

Likewise, I\'d be interested in any advice or experience anyone can share on this.

Insuring your rotary / Insurance for highly modified FD
February 08, 2011, 01:17:56 PM
Having read this thread I gave REIS a call...

Bear in mind I\'m 31 years old, live in what I assume is a pretty average postcode and have owned my highly mod\'d FD for 5 years (been paying around £800 fully comp through Adrian Flux for the past few years). Also I have 6 years NCB.

The very nice people at REIS quoted me £351 fully comp AND this included 4 days of trackday insurance!

:god:god:god:god:god:god:god:god:god:god

Thanks for the tip, Lisa!!

General Technical / Diffs on auto and manual FDs

Thanks for the help.
I\'d rather not open the diff up, so will give the sat nav method a go. Just got to get it back on the road first!
