:(Hello Ash, Can i say agen, I\'m realy sorry to hear this. And can i add, from your 1st post were you say "previous owner", it was not me. When i had this RX7 i NEVER EVER ran it dry of oil and i NEVER EVER ran it on synthetic! I know better! I allways keeped on top the the oil!! And i change the oil more then i had too. As i told you when you came to look at her. I thort i had a good engine as this is what Pip told me the 1st time i  took her to WGT just after i got her. And the times after that, as i alway asked (as you do). I\'m not blaming Pip as he can not see in side the engine with out taking it apart. And he could have not helped me more when i had the RX7.

Glad you have shorted it out and i wish you all the best in the future.

I loved that car and i\'m sad to see this :(

General Technical / how to change the mileage ?
July 11, 2007, 03:27:58 PM
Quote from: nikpIt\'s illegal to alter the mileage on the clocks, for whatever reason.

And this is one of the reasons why it\'s illegal: it\'s making it look like it\'s done less \'distance\' than it really has.

The only time you can change the mileage displayed is if you change the clocks.

This is my understanding of it at any rate.

I have no intention of doing anything illegal. I just want to put the clock in miles. eg, the cars done say 40,000 km in japan. Then it got converted to MPH and has been going up in miles ever since. It\'s been in the uk for 2 years now and is showing 80,000 on the clock but it\'s not done 80,000 miles has it! It\'s done 40,000km + 40,000 miles. So it\'s realy done 64,860 miles (if my maths are right lol) so that is illegal is it not? I will need it working out and converting so it shows only the miles it coverd.

I\'m i making any sence ?

Cheers

Nothing dogy, just my rex in an inport and as soon as she hit the uk it was converted to MPH but the mileage was never altered. I would like to change the mileage so it\'s showing all Miles and not half KM and half Miles if you know what i mean.

Am i going to have to go a rx7 specialists ? how dose it work? Can i do it myself? (with a PFC or something?)

And also, is it worth it. I\'m thinking of selling it soon and thought it would sell better with less mileage on the clock then having a high number and me telling them halfs KM and the other miles???

:Hammer

HI all, I\'m after some advice. I have a FD3 RS and i am happy with the standerd suspension set up apart from the ride hight. I would like to lower it alittle so it looks the part. But i\'m afrade if i get some lowering springs i will f*ck up the handleing!?

I\'m not made of money so coilovers is a no-go. So i\'m looking for some good lowering springs.

General Technical / Water getting in the cockpit
January 16, 2007, 07:00:46 PM
Update for you all that are intrested.

It was non of the above. My mate though it mite be the windscreen so i siliconed the bottom of it (you cant see it thank god as i use white lol) but still no joy.

I ended up taking the carpet out (what a job!!!:Hammer ), running water all over the car and found the leck. It was coming from the heater unit on the bolkhead!? so off come the heater unit and found water was coming from the funall that feeds the heater with air. Took the cowl grille off at the bottom of the windscreen and had a look to see if there was a hole somewere in the cowl channel or funall. Found nothing!! So hand went up the funall and found water on a plastic clip?? BINGO! One of the plastic clips that you screw the cowl grille on with, was missing it\'s rubber gasket i think? And it was right over the funall. Water was coming from the windscreen and getting past the plastic clip thing and dripping in the funall. Put duck tap over it and coverd the car with water agen and no leck :rollin
Stick it back with a bit of silicon to seal it and job done. (i know, not the best way)

Worning, men at work

Getting there

Found the leck

close up

Top of the heater were it mates with the bottom of the cowl channel. you can see water round the back right if you look.

Thats the little bast**d!!!!! :2Mad

Hi all,

Any idears how water is getting in on the passingers side soking the carpit?

I\'v changed the door gaskets thinking it was them last month but i found that i had wasted £400 as water is still getting in

I have done a search but found nothing helpfull.

Could it be the boot gasket?

I dont think its coolent coming from the heater coz it\'s not coloured?

Any idears :xconfused
