No not got one or thinking of getting one as not an fd owner as yet but I was wondering if I got a late fd, say 96 ish and wanted to mod it I would need a cat to get it through the MOT wouldn\'t I ??????????

Thanks for that, a great link. Going for a couple of bungs or filling and painting?

Anyone know if the standard rear spoiler say from a 93 fd is interchangeable (in terms of mounting holes) with a 99 spec one or any other one for that matter?

Thanks

With everything else being equal what power difference would there be between the 2? Assuming the car has got twin induction,  Power FC, mild port etc.

Cheers.

I believe that any comments made about any car for sale must carefully be assessed. The car is likely to be up to 14 years old and as many have been modified by previous owners to make them more suitable for their own use they may no longer be fit into the category of what a prospective buyer would want. I for instance have seen several 93 type R’s ranging from a street cruiser with everything highly polished (and yes I do mean everything!) to no holds bared single turbo track specials. The range of difference of apparently similar cars is so great there’s bound to be comments and opinions expressed that may unintentionally cause offence to the owners.

Now don’t laugh all you current owners, but as the relative price of these cars has come down things have got very tricky for us aspiring owners…………(waits patiently while the chuckles stop).

Ok I will explain. When the cars were more expensive an engine rebuild for instance would be a relatively small percentage of the whole value of the car, now it could easily be up to half its total value.
The same goes for the mods it’s got, or more likely the mods the new owner would want it to have.

It may seem that people like myself have got more fussy when trying to select a rex but its purely down to the huge range of  what we have to choose from and trying to find a car that fits as best as possible.

By the way if anyone can recommend an fd for up to £6500 mildly modded with a fresh engine please let me know.

General Technical / Quick Help Peugeot 106 problem
March 07, 2006, 09:38:31 PM
I had the same problem on a Rover 216, and it was a problem with the spark igniter in the distibutor. It would start and run ok until warm then cut out and wouldnt start until cool again. Also on mine the rev counter would also flick about before cutting out.

Have a look at this stuff, I think it was developed for aeronautical use but now it’s more widely available. Do a search for Nimbus GII heat shield or follow this link to see it’s properties.
