Quote from: Jamie R on April 06, 2023, 08:18:15 AMAnother fact I never knew until yesterday The Lada Riva rotary version was only available to certain government personal and the KGB !Yep. Russians had massive rotary engine production and research. Actually, it did end 2002.
Also the Riva itself is a derivative of the Fiat 124! albeit with 800 modifications.
Quote from: Casey on March 31, 2023, 12:32:42 PMYou may have already seen these pics Jamie? They are of a rotary-engined Lada which was at Phil Blake's house in July 2021. I don't think Phil owned it, but he had been asked by the owner to do some work on the car.Wow!!!! Thats rare! Because they were never allowed for sivilians, they were all destroyed. Only handfull have survived. Therefor, these are one of the rares rotary power vehicles there is
May be of some vague use as reference.

Quote from: clive on March 28, 2023, 08:59:53 PMWell I never knew this one.Yes they did. Basically, all rotary Ladas were only available for police and KGB.
Steve told me today that Lada actually made a FWD Rotary
Must have been this shape
Keep us posted Jamie

Quote from: Jamie R on March 15, 2023, 07:59:50 PMSo the elusive corner weight saga. That actually not bad at all
Now im running 400lbs springs on the front and 275lbs springs on the rear.
Car is loaded up with 120Kgs ballast (dummy driver) and 30 litres fuel.
I set the ride height on all 4 corners and lowered the car onto the scales.
Im happy with the corners distribution, and live with the 21Kg side to side as nothing in the grand scheme.
Now leave it alone!

Quote from: clive on February 24, 2023, 07:25:50 PMI think, few years ago, with unbelievable luck they found that Corvettes original engine, and it was in UK.Quote from: jinx on February 21, 2023, 09:35:30 AMI think I remember reading the red one wound up with the styling department at Vauxhall in Luton and left via the back door when the place closed.
This was the one that should have been crushed and GM thought it had been!
God knows how but it was squirreled away in a container in Luton but with no engine.
Maybe 20 years ago when it saw the light of day, off it went to Rotechnicks and had a 13B fitted.
The car ended up being owned by Clarmont Corvette and around 5 years ago the founder owner died and I was told that the car was going to be shipped off to the States for Auction -------That was the last I heard of the little red Corvette, unless you know different.

Hopefully you sir, can find a nice stump of tree, and smoke your cigarette in peace. Good bye my friend
