General Technical / Fitting A Boost Gauge - tips?
August 30, 2006, 06:27:30 PM
Hello all,

In the end I drilled a small hole about 1" to the left of the throttle cable hole, which I think is v similar to bob went (see above). I had no problem but sealing access is tricky, in the end I have used silicon as I struggled to get a grommit to fit.

Thanks all,

Pete

General Technical / Fitting A Boost Gauge - tips?
July 10, 2006, 07:27:43 PM
I am fitting a boost gauge and am having trouble finding an "easy" route to get the pipe through into the cabin. Any tips or tricks?
Current plan is to go out into the wing then back in by the door elec harness route in front of the door hinge.
I am struggling to get it through any current harness routes.

Thoughts?

Thanks all,

Pete

Quote from: Ricco_04Has Carl told you what the problem was with it?

Yes, they were very helpful in explaining what was wrong.
They discovered I was only getting 0.2-0.3 bar so then went to work.
The first issue was a split in the pipe running from the turbo unit to the intercooler. Replacing this fixed the pressure issue.
But then the car wasn\'t running well at all and it was discovered that the coil pack was rather worse for wear. So that was replaced.
So it is running really well now but there is still an intermittant issue with the second turbo holding 0.7 bar so that is work in progress..... Hopefully it will be something fairly simple... fingers crossed!
looking forward to getting it all sorted.

Nice one, glad you got it fixed.

Unfortunately my problems have run deeper,....
So I took it to Hayward Rotary. Really happy with their work and attitude, so it is on the road to recovery... it is going to be better than ever!

Alright,
How did you get on?
Did replacing the Y-pipe fix the issue?
Any tips / tricks?
I am experiencing exactly the same thing!
