General Technical / RX-7 / Scooby Question
March 02, 2007, 03:40:02 PM
Used to have an Impreza Terzo with full PPP package, personally thought it was rubbish compared to the rex, handling on the rex is far superior IMO (suits my style of driving better though) and the power delivery is much better,

All round I would never go back to a scoob unless I had too.

Quote from: EddieHi davegttph1

I have seen that garage and he has had a couple of rx\'7 in, on close expection they both looked a little ruff, one was full of mazdaspeed goodies including wheels silver in colour and he currently has a yelow one with nice carbon bonnet, looks nice but again on close inspection its a little ruff.

On a quick chat they did not seem to know much about the 7 which did not srprice me as they import all sorts.

Cheers

Never used them Ive only noticed the garage a few times before whilst driving past them to visit Boundary Park :D wasnt a recommendation, just an observation ;)

There is an import garage on Higginshaw Lane/Shaw Road (from Oldham to Shaw) Its just off to the side of the road, looking on Autoroute its either on Holyrood street or Milne Street. Seen an RX7 for sale in there before, cant vouch for any of their work though tbh.

If its just the Spark Plugs you need changing cant you have a crack yourself?

Well, the obvious thing I would say not to forget is when its all fitted and connected up, dont forget to put some oil in her and fill the coolant system up or it could end in tears ;) :D

Yup. Might have chance to load some up at dinner time for you. (Theyre on my home PC.)

Firstly I wouldnt trust this kit. I would look at trying to find someone who has already bought and fitted one as he sells the exact same kit for Skylines, Imprezas etc etc with same piping aswell. When these first came onto ebay I emailed them and the reply was we\'ve never fitted one of these kits to an RX7 personally.... That answered everything else I wanted to know about it tbh....

Seems very cheap though. good luck with it.

Hang about, whats a mechanical failure got to do with all this? Were not talking about the engine just broke are we. If your wheel came off and you careered into another car they would pay out for any damages etc... What a load of tosh. Surely if they know who you are on this forum they could see from any specs you\'ve given on your car do not include Nitrous fitted :rolleyes

I think you\'ll get them to pay up if you keep onto them, Its like their first off on a pay out, always refuse it and they\'ll come back with better.

Good luck mate.

Theres an earth in the passenger footwell near the ECU. I would guess theres one on the drivers side too but havent had that side out.

:god :god :god :god :god :god :god

Its out :D we hit a few problems, my tip for the day is not to leave the long bolt in that holds the starter motor in, it also goes through the block and gearbox and will bend if you try to remove it with the bolt in making the job a right pig to do... We knew that before we started off course ;) :D:2Confused :evillaugh

Doing mine today with G@ndy, tips would be good but think it should be fairly simple to be honest. :)

Un sure, I understood that Pip rebuilt it in Christmas 2003 so 2 and a half years ago by my reckoning, so I wouldnt have said that many miles were on it as Pip used to own it and Sean (who bought it off him) didn own it for too long, about 6 months but he did take it too Nuremberg Ring etc... So I wouldnt say its done anywhere near 60k. Id be suprised if its covered 25-30k.

Cheers for that mullins, Ive been following the thread with interest actually and its seriously making me think twice about spending serious cash now. All being well Im taking the engine out of the car tomorrow with G@ndy (thanks very much buddy) so thats an initial saving straight away :) next problem is wondering do I have a go at stripping the engine myself and go from there and call in favours from a few other guys I know and see what happens, failing that I could just give the engine to someone and get it rebuilt :)

Least things are moving now.:Thumbsup!
