3rd generation RX-7's / TO4E enough??
September 30, 2010, 08:14:58 PM
dude, don\'t get bogged down chasing power figures! WOuld have thought 330 at the wheels would be more than enough for the roads of the isle of wight!!? I think going to a bigger turbo your just going to be moving out of the powerband and not get the most of the car.

Whats the rest of the spec your running? Your money could be better spent else where and gain you a quicker car...

3rd generation RX-7's / Wide wheel arches

Quote from: Kieron;500852Re Amemiya, everyone who claims to be an agent or dealer will just order direct from them and wack up the price or buy fake and sell on as real Re Amemiya.

Unless you\'re happy to buy fake and rip off a rotary legend.

Hey mate, got your email!

Just so everyone knows, I got mine through Newera, Migs was pretty helpful with it. Was a while ago that I brought the kit though! From memory it took around 3-4months wait if not a little longer.

Quote from: Ricco_04;500817Not thought about a price, its something im just considering as it\'s took too much out of me and its no longer an enjoyment!   I had it back for a bit, took it to pips because it ran poorley only to find low compression on front rotor and the tubo oil seals have gone - nice coincidence!  I do have replacement engine & turbos waiting to go in though :)

Body all sorted and painted now, just having all trim put back on and they need to sort my undersweep out.

If you do think about selling give me a shout! Man I miss that kit, wish I\'d of kept it and built my RX instead of buying and trying to drift dirty nissans!!

What sort of money you thinking?

Cheers

In a word no!

With them offsets and spacers your front wheel would need to come out a further 15mm to look right in the arches and the rears 5mm.

Don\'t forget wheel width affect things to....a 10j rim will sit further out compared to a 9j rim with the same offset.

Try here to help work out widths and offsets-

http://www.driftworks.com/resources/wheel-offset-calculator,17.html

If your going to the trouble of wide arching then wider rims are a must really.

Hope that helps you out!

3rd generation RX-7's / First lot back from powdercoating

From memory I think its 8 peices of different size\'s, the front lower arms are pretty large...

They have rubber covers on the ball joints, I\'ll need to see how these come off:Hammer As long as they do it would be great if your mate could do them.

Cheers

Hi mate,

I\'m on the outskirts of Southampton in Park Gate/Warsash area, where abouts are you?

Do you reckon your mate will be able to powder coat some bits and bobs for me at all? Such as the suspension arms.

Cheers

Quote from: rotaryart.uk.comHeres my Dymag
Come with health warning thay are Mag wheels and wont hurt your back when picking up ;-)

....but they save about 6Kgs per corner...which taking into the conversion of unsprung weight saves an equivalent of 192Kgs
This will help in Acceleration, Braking, and turn in. (thanks John ;-)

Coming to a shop very soon.

HHHMmmmmmmmm:InLove

I know these are out of my price range, but how much would they set someone back? What widths, etc?

They would look very stealthy on a black FD!

3rd generation RX-7's / what bodykit is this?
November 08, 2006, 04:34:54 PM
Quote from: gmogleBut then again you could easily spend 10k on engine bits such as T78 turbo plus everything needed and mapping.

Heck its worth buying a cheap car off ebay with no engine warranty, then ordering this kit plus engine bits.

Reckoning about £25k you could have the most awesome looking, sounding and performing FD !!!!!

Totally agree with you mate, pretty much what I\'m doing, but just doing bits and bobs as and when I can, the bodykit is by far the biggest expense so far.

Buying a kit like this is a big step to take as its alot of cash you won\'t make back or see again and as you say is only worth while if it goes as good as it looks:D  Just trying to let people know what will be involved:)

PS. what ever budget you can come up with it will come to more always little bits you forget about and finishing touches to add. I planned on a completed car for 20K...So far spent about 13K and reckon only about a 1/3rd the way there:2eek

As a ball park this will cost well over 5K...Yes £5000:eek and that won\'t include wing, lights etc. I know this as I have brought a lesser RE-A widebody kit.

Alot of money for this, dont forget fitted, some mega wheels to fill the arches and tyres to fit. Would\'nt expect much change for 10K once your done.

Hi Kev,

The car looks really good condition:Thumbs-up

You don\'t hang about do you! Reminds me I must call you later this week...

Are you rebuilding the engine at all? And are you tackling the manual conversion yourself?
