Thinking of buying one has anyone any info on what to look out for, or any problems with them, apart from the fuel consumption.

Had 2 over the last 6 years, apart from usual service parts I have only had rear calipers and discs  and a rear ABS sensor replaced. Calipers and discs had seized due to car sat on forecourt of garage for too long and ABS as a result of the heat generated when the brakes seized.

Keep it, and do the work when you can, I had mine off the road for a few years through different circumstances but put her back on the road last month and was glad I never thought about parting with her.
 It would be worth reading some of the posts on the first gen section and introduce yourself as there will be all the advice you will need on restoring the car.

I just managed to get everything sorted in time for a run down to Beaulieu today. It felt really good to be back in the car again, although a little stressful as it has been over 3 years since it has been on the road. Spent half the journey watching all the gauges, and listening for strange noises, but everything was ok.
