3rd generation RX-7's / My FD - Before & After
September 02, 2009, 04:34:01 PM
Ooh nice! that would be greatly appreciated if it\'s not too much trouble mate. My email is      L L O C K I 2 0 0 0 @ M S N .com  There\'s still only very few mods on her now. All i\'ve done is fit the bodykit, updated the rear lights and re piped all the vacuum / boost hoses, the rest is pretty much standard i think. Anyway drop me an email if you got time to sort those papers out and i\'ll give you my address etc. Cheers :)

Lol! I was sure someone would eventually recognise it. It\'s running great thanks. Been the most reliable one i\'ve had so far! She sailed through her mot with no advisories or anything. I ended up going to s....horpe to buy it, i forget the name of the place now. Swapped my seat cupra for it :D unfortunately thinking of selling her now :( not sure yet because i know i will be kicking myself if i do.

3rd generation RX-7's / My FD - Before & After

Hi everyone, thought i\'d get some pics up now my rex is starting to take shape. It\'s still a work in progress but i\'m pleased with the result so far.

I bought it completely standard (apart from the wheels) and it looked a little like this:

I then bought a C-West kit, and a spoiler. I wasn\'t too keen on the c-west rear end, so i flogged that on and bought a set of spats, which are being sprayed and fitted as i type this. It now looks like this:

I also found a guide on t\'internet on how to "99\'spec" your old lights. Saved me a few hundred quid! can\'t believe how easy it was to do, and the result looks awesome! (can\'t see too well in the pic i\'m afraid)

Anyway, thats it so far. Once the spats are on i\'ll be ripping out the dash and all the trim and taking that down to the local spray shop to be painted white. Then i think the alloys will be due a change.
The spoiler you see on my car is now up for a swap if anyone is interested, i\'ll put the details in the relevant place. :cool

forget the bumper removal question. sussed it out in the end. I would still like to know though... Do i need to change the wires/plugs to fit 99 spec sidelights to my 1994 Rx? or are they the same connectors?

General Technical / A couple of body kit questions
April 28, 2009, 07:07:52 PM
Hey all. I just bought a c-west n1 kit for my rex:D I was looking at having a go at fitting it myself, or at least offering it up to see how much work (if any) is going to be involved. Has anybody here removed the original kit from their car? i haven\'t had a proper look yet, but was wondering whether it\'s an easy job not? Also, my rex is 1994 reg and the kit has the newer style front light sockets. Will the new lights just plug straight in with the older style wiring? Cheers for any advice:cheers

I got mine from http://www.rx7store.net, in red as well! They sell a box of silicone hose from hose techniques. Get about 4 different sizes in different lengths. Plus a nice little tool for cutting them. I done every vac hose there is on the rex, and i still have loads left!

General Technical / Cleaning Apexi filters
August 23, 2008, 09:09:57 AM
dunno if this is any help? http://www.gumtree.com/london/89/21937689.html

"Contrary to popular beliefs, Apexi Filters don\'t last a lifetime. Apexi recommends inspecting the filter at least every 15,000 miles (25,000km).

After the inspection, you can either cleane the filter if that is feasible or discard the filter and get another one-This is the recommendation of Apexi for Japan where the air is much cleaner as cars with diesel engines have been banned on any Japanese road, hence the gap for inspection of any UK or European cars fitted with an Apexi filter is much shorter, circa 10,000 miles.

Apexi is a paper based filter and cannot be re-oiled and spray cleaned or even washed like K&N, it can only be replaced."

not sure whether this is true, or just one guys opinion i dont know.:wiggle

I have an Efini Y-pipe? lol i didn\'t even realise:Hammer. I thought it was a standard one. Shows how much i still have yet to learn. Anyway, my car\'s a 1995 model. Starting to get a little concerned now as the guy i bought it off was a trader and he had no documents with it etc and didn\'t know what had been done to it. All i knew was that it passed the main checks required when buying an FD and it had low mileage so I just went for it. Starting to wonder now what has actually been done to it :3Confused

p.s about the check valves, you are right m8, 4 not 5. my mistake

I got mine off Bob aka-ro284 (thanks again bob!) as he had some spare, only 4 unfortunately, i still need a 5th one. I believe there\'s a guy on ebay in the USA called rx7guru, he sells 5 of em for about $20 but last time i checked he was all out. With any luck someone on here will be able to sort you out, if not do a search for "viton check valves" HTH

P.S Thanks everyone for the nice comments, much appreciated!
