Anyone else shed some light on this or provide a solution.

Also does anywhere refurb HKS coilovers in the UK

I\'ve emailed them but i\'m not holding out a lot of hope. from what i can gather these are pretty rare dampers and finding the correct bush is going to be even harder.

Hey boys and girls,

Long time no speak, i\'ve been busy moving house and decorating etc, well the place is all done, i\'ve got a nice warm garage to put the Rx in the problem is I can\'t move the bloody thing.

Right here is the dilema, and solution would be amazing cause right not I have a massive paperweight on my parents drive that is no use and no fun.

The car came with lowered springs and dampers (potenza street dampers) these werent bad but i got some coilovers cheap, used the coilovers for a while until one of the rears gave up and started knocking badly (hks). So thought i would swap back to the lowered springs and dampers. Upon further inspection one of the bushed at the bottom of the damper was shot. Now here lies the problem. Its not the same size as a standard mazda one so I have no idea how to replace it.

I have 2 choices from what i can see, get the HKS coilovers fixed, likelyhood in the country i would imagine to be next to nothing.

Try and track down this elusive bush also very slim, i\'ve posted a photo below so you can see the difference. If anyone can help in anyway i\'d be gratefull as I don\'t want to have to shell out for new suspension.

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

Thanks

Alan

I get about 13.7 volts with the engine running, so iirc that should mean the alternator is doing its job and just being let down by the battery.

Right let me explain.

I am now on my 3rd oddessy pc680 battery, i haven\'t fitted this yet through cause I need some advice, the previous 2 am a fairly confident I killed overcharging.

The dead battery is currently still in the car, when you take it out it has expanded slightly as you can see some bowing in the side, it charges up to 13.7 volts but if you leave it for a couple of hours it drops away to about 7.6v.

I can jump start the car, so that it runs, here is where I am starting to get confused, with the car running the car should be running of the alternator if I am corret, but once I have it running if I press the brake down so the lights come on the radio turns it self off.

What I need to know I suppose is do I put the new battery in and hope for the best or are there things I should be checking first, if so what?

Kind Regards

Alan

Common no, but it is a cause of it, if you\'ve got major doubts get it pressure tested or take the poor approach, cut a 2l coke bottle in half, put it in the filler, fill with water so you can see it start the car and watch for bubbles.

Also check for any coolant leaks a tiny little spray is virtually undetectable in a hot bay.

Then get a decent garage to do it, there is nothing RX7 specific about a gear box change, other than disengaging the clutch.

That bottle is the cooland overflow, for piece of mind, I\'d bleed the system. so fill the one you\'ve been checking to the mid point, open the ast and make sure there is coolant in there, fill the main filler neck to the brim and get a mate holding some coolant so you can pour more in, there is a coolant hose on the back of the throttle body, pull this off and keep filling with cooland untill you get a steady stream out of it, once this happend plug it back in and you have a bleed system

Doesn\'t really need to be a specialtst, its a very simple procedure to do, bit of a pain to do on ramps at home but doable, any decent garage should be able to do it.

Dipstick?

Do you mean the overflow resoivior behind the wing, that not where you need to be checking the coolant there is a filler neck at the top point on the engine by the alternator, if the level drops more that about an inch from that that is what causes the buzzer to go off.
