3rd generation RX-7's / Move to a R34 GTR?
March 10, 2014, 10:25:33 PM
Quote from: mick choi;875377to b honest m8 u should`nt b driving a rx7 in the snow/ice as it will slide all over the place without any notice or any rwd without traction control, snow is for 4wd cars.

I drove my FD up Devil\'s Dyke in Feb many years back - got halfway up and found it was snow and ice...  Eagle F1s on it and getting to the top was interesting but perfectly doable with some care.

Coming back down was damn scary.

Set of decent winter tyres and a very sensible right foot and respect of speed and it\'d be possible to survive a winter in an FD without issue.

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Debut Novel Finally Out!!!

Congrats Gurj!  Have you considered e-pub?  Without the cost of the physical printing you may well be able to reach a much bigger audience.

Quote from: shaunwil;826181They had Nick Check the wheel and it looked a little scratched.

Indeed - had the rear off, checked for roundness and re-balanced (to <10g out) by Nick but the vibration is still there.

It\'s matched to road speed/wheel rotation, I\'ll have to get the front checked as there\'s a possibility that there was light contact there.

I did slam on and lock up the fronts after getting clouted @90ish so I\'m wondering if it could be a monumental flat-spot on the front.  Will have a look this weekend.

Apart from the early end to the day it was absolutely cracking - great to meet everyone!

Quote from: lennycarloff;826122I am sure next time he is out in the car he wont be shouting at people "you can get a bus through there"

Felt a bit bad for the Elise owner - it was his mate driving it!  The instructor I was with at the time was adamant I\'d done nowt wrong.

Ho hum!

Made it home safely... still got the judder somewhere on the left side after an Elise decided to tag me heading up clay hill into druids.  Couldn\'t see anything wrong with the rear suspension, am wondering if he managed to tag the front wheel as well - there are some suspect marks just forwards of the door...

Was a tad exciting at approaching 90mph.

Quote from: shaunwil;825922Nothing Like last minutes issues !

Rears are locking up too much on my new pads so may need to swap them back too !

Out doing a last minute run of the car yesterday and did a few heavy breaks from ~50 and the rears locked up which was odd.  Put it down to rust on the disks as the car hadn\'t been run for 4 weeks.

Was a little concerned the ABS didn\'t stop that happening!

It\'s been pretty moist up here for a while now, expect more of the same!

Really looking forwards to this :driving

Front on as far forwards as possible.

Quote from: Richard.C;821657Clive, something like this would make a nice weapon for that series:

Richard

Was about to link to that - caught a bit of the Grand Am race from Miami on MotorsTV where this beauty was racing.

Apparently in the previous race it handed the Porsche and Ferrari entries a lesson!

Might pop over from sunny north Staffs - route would take in Leek, Buxton, Bakewell and Chesterfield and the twisties in between.

Will make a call on the day though!

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Women footballing

I guess what it really shows is that the standard of refereeing in the US game is sub-par.  You can guarantee that some prem players would get away with that stuff if they could.

Any number of those incidents would have seen a streight red in most european football because it was done with malice and intent rather than accidental or late.
