Hi all after selling on my fd that had been in storage earlier in the year, rather than put it back on the road I have been seriously pining for it,just the empty space in my garage is making me sick :-( ,so that said I'm looking to get back into ownership,I'm looking for something in very good condition mechanically, preferably not too modified bodywise but I'm open to suggestions, must be a clean car, with little or no rust n a good strong lump, beyond that I'm quite open, although no major projects,a little bodywork here or there or minor recommissioning  considered,I have cash waiting for the right car.

Gutted my old car has been off the road so long. Engine go on it?

3rd generation RX-7's / FD shell offer.....
April 14, 2015, 05:20:54 PM
Well after several years out the game I've been offered an FD rolling shell for pretty much free. Needs an engine. No engine in it at all. I've been looking across a couple of FD forums gauging engine prices.

I don't have a lot of details of the car. It was literally a conversation about my mechanics current car collection and he said that shell you can have, needs an engine.....my heart rate hasn't been the same.

I'm hoping to get across this week to review bodywork, see what items are missing and go from there.

What's the options engine wise? Get one from a breaker and fit it? Purchase a complete rebuilt engine? Hoping to fit the engine and get the car running on my own.

What happened to her?

Was chatting with Dale and asking if he'd seen her around.  Drop me an email and let me know how the old girl is doing.

Personally, I'd get her rebuilt. You know the history, you know the car, the upgrades. The Garage in wishaw can do the whole engine out, down to pip and back up,and in. Personally again I'd get her down to pip complete and collect her when finished.

Quote from: hmltnangel;865327Well I should make enough from stripping the MR2 to buy a decent RX7 :) You need to get one as good as your old one. Used to see your old silver one floating about a few years ago but it vanished.

It looked like he was going to sell it a couple years ago so I enquired but he never updated ad. Deffo getting another one............

Quote from: YAU730;851539He said he will pop up but didn\'t, I know he\'s really busy now n tbh I don\'t really want to bother him as i feel like i am, so am prob just going to trailer the car to WGT as I want to know the damages to this car n what steps to take next.

He wouldn\'t think that. Surely cheaper to trailer it to him? Sure he\'ll sort it out :burnout
