Rx8 /MX5 NC front upper suspension arms.

These were removed from my mx5 nc at 33k miles
The bushes and ball joints are in excellent condition.

Mx5 nc and rx8 share the same front suspension arms

1 of the castle nut holes is missing, however nut threads on fine.

This fits onto OEM Accordian pipe and turns down in front of front panel behind bumper.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has helped me out over the years, it is appreciated.

The car has gone to zulumat on the rx8oc forum where it's going to receive a new engine and live on.
Sad to see it go, but need to get myself out of this financial mess caused by Haywards. It's a shame my rotary experience has been ruined by Carl. I should of listened to the voice in my head and went elsewhere after the first oil seal failure.

Rx8 231 front ARB bushes powerflex black yellow dot.
These have been used at most 100 miles before I refitted the mx5 nc front arb.

There is some rust marks as the arb was rusty but no damage to bushes.

The time has come to sell the car unfortunately. It is still being used as a daily. Engine does still start and runs fine.

Mazda mx5 nc2 white 20th Anniversary edition soft top. I have treated majority of surface rust, no other issues with rot as far as I'm aware.

Spec
RX8 231 engine (low compression makes around 4 to 5 bar on compression test with warm engine - tested today) recently rebuilt less than 5k miles ago.
Custom oil cooler
Rx8 6 speed gearbox, input shaft bearing was replaced less than 5k miles ago. No issues with synchros.
Rx8 6 speed LSD differential. RX8 driveshafts
Rx8 hubs front and rear
Rx8 abs/dsc (fully functioning) a tad sensitive on tight turns.
OEM Rx8 ecu with working cruise control (remapped to modify fans temps and dtc's lights)
Mx5 propshaft/ppf
Powerflex black suspension bushes all round including diff mount/ARB bushes
Standard rx8 manifold with 3" custom exhaust with sports cat and racing beat silencer. BMW M135I back box
Standard rx8 airbox with K&n filter
VFAD fitted and working.
Rev c coils with magnacor leads
Lightened flywheel
Uprated fuel pump
Rx8 front subframe including steering rack
Meister r coilovers with stiff springs.
Standard mx5 brakes (they lock the wheels up well)
Rx8 clocks
All interior electrics/fans work.
Soft top is in really good condition, no leaks.

There are a couple of issues as you would expect with any car
- Cat C status from previous front end damage.
-front bumper has been previously repaired, some of the filler has cracked and there are some patches of white paint on the front arches which is a slightly different colour to the OEM colour.
- no AC
-clear coat has come off alloys.
-low comp engine but still starts.
-tracking needs doing. Hasn't been done since rx8 diff swap and replacement steering rack due to bearing failure.
-oil pressure gauge (aftermarket) reads 1 bar out.

The car is pretty much an rx8 apart from the body and fuel tank and everything works as expected.
Unfortunately I need to sell as I cannot afford a replacement engine after my less than satisfactory experience with the engine builder.

If your not seeing bubbles you may well be OK.

Paul, good to see you got an engine back in the car somehow ?.   

It's the replacement engine that's got low compression. The pictures above are from the first engine which failed

I've replaced the hose, refilled and bled the coolant and it started OK.
Got it up to temp and there's no obvious bubbles appearing in the coolant tank.

Might of got away with it

Argh it's not even Friday the 13th yet and I'm having rotten luck. The clocks just ticked over 100k and a coolant hose went bang on the way home, should of stopped sooner than I did but it didn't go into the red on the clocks
It drank 9l of water when refilling.

The engine still starts...

How do these engine fair with this sort of things?

Hi Paul, dont break it park it up and look for rusty rx8..with good running engine..?
My last engine in westy was from a crash damaged car..it was sweet.
Ive asked Wayne if he knows of any engines..he get em for his race car.

Paul. I am absolutely mortified to see this has Happened to you.

Sadly over the years I have seen many walk away from the Rotary scene purely due to multiple Bad Engine builders that have come and gone

It so annoys me as these things happening gives the Rotary a totally uncalled bad reputation.

Paul. "if" you have receipts,  I can only advise going to citizen advice first, which is free, then the small claims court which I think costs £250 to try and at least get some money back.       

No receipts unfortunately. Seems to be a recurring theme, other people I have spoken to haven't had receipts either.
The thing that annoys me the most is when the rotor oil seal was repaired (at the cost of £900) around 5k miles before it failed spectacularly. I was told the engine was immaculate condition and if I bought new apex seals it would of been given warranty.
But judging by the state of the engine in the photos, it was not in immaculate condition and I highly doubt if I had of opted for new apex seals they would of been fitted.
