Thanks. I've managed to source an original fan + clutch and the location of the holes look to match the fixings on mine; it's from a S3. I just need to get a shroud. Hope a S3 shroud fits it or maybe I need to modify a S2 shroud.

Thanks, looking forward to getting it on the road for a proper drive. It's almost a year since I bought the car.

Cheers for your messages.  Pleased to say I've located a fan + clutch.

I've been looking through the paperwork and have some info.  The car was originally sold by Holmwood Motors in Enfield in October 1981. The purchaser was W.J Smith Insulations Ltd of Stamford Hill.

It looks like Andrew Clarke was the owner in 2001 and sold it to Tina Pryor; she and Michael Pryor owned the car for a number of years. The car appeared for sale on Classic Cars HQ in December 2017 and that was the person who sold it at auction to me in April 2018.

I checked my V5 and I'm the 7th owner.

Hi,

I'm Neil, 42, working for a small insurance company, living in South London and I've bought my first RX7. It's a 1981 Series 2 FB.

I've been living in London for 10 years but originate from Essex.

A bit of history:
My car had been with its last proper owner for 17 years and briefly with someone that flipped it.  It came with loads of the back file which is very nice to have. It was originally sold in East London so it's now come home.  Since I bought it I had a lot of work done on it so it's now sporting an engine that had the full overhaul with seals etc. and it also included a brand new rear rotary housing; also a new clutch and a starter motor. The engine is so smooth now and it hasn't done 60,000 since new!!!.  I've only recently got the car back after long delays including getting hold of the necessary parts.

The remaining mechanical things to sort out are the exhaust (replacement is being planned) and the fan (including clutch) + fan shroud. I'm struggling to find the fan components despite hunting all over the internet and I can't really drive the car until it's sorted; this is a big headache after the ££££s I've spent in the last year. Any help with this would be gratefully accepted.

The body work is pretty good and looks to have preventative work done a while ago probably when it had a respray in the original colour. The respray is still in reasonable condition and just needs some attention to make it shine. It is a very original car so I'm keen to keep it that way.

I'm looking forward to getting it on the road properly and intend to come to some events later this year.
