Thanks Clive!

I'm not expecting the quick sale, as it's a rare beast. However the sale ad has been viewed over 4,000 times in 6 days, which really surprised me! It seems more people know what it is than I thought.

Hey all,

I'm putting my Spirit R up for sale. Only recently imported and I've be fastidiously spending money on it to make it perfect.

Here's the link to the Pistonheads advert (hope that's ok mods?)

Thanks,

3rd generation RX-7's / New owner advice
December 14, 2015, 01:22:14 PM
Hi all,

I was looking for some advice. As some of you know I’ve got a 2002 Spirit R landing in January from Newera Imports. The car has a full Mazda service history, incredibly.

I live in West London, and am keen the car gets looked after by someone decent who isn’t 300 miles away. Does anyone have a recommendation for somewhere I can take the car for servicing/preventative care etc?

Also, what’s the current thinking on servicing schedules on a import â€" should I get one done as soon as it arrives? Miguel has had a compression test done for me, and all banks were mid 7s, so no particular worry with the engine.

Finally, to underseal or not underseal?

Thanks for any and all opinions!

Thanks for the post - though I've got to disagree with a no name and shame policy (sorry!)

The whole point of any club is the chance to band together in some cases, and share a collective knowledge. I read your post with interest, but you seemed to do the stuff I would normally do when working out where to take a car. By not telling us who the company is, then it just allows the next owner to stumble into the same hole. If they are a proper outfit, then they'll be big enough to take the feedback publicly and adjust. If they don't care, then more's the point to tell us.

Just my humble opinion - hope you get the car sorted ASAP.

If I'm free they could have my Spirit R, just need to look into dates.

New to MRC - introduce yourself / Re: New Spirit R owner

Thanks for the replies - and now you mention it, yes Clive I did sort those TG tickets for the club! Totally forgot about that :)

There seemed to be quite a rush for Miguel's Spirit R, it just so happened I saw it the day he posted it up, so was very lucky. He told me he could have sold it many times over, and it seems I got a bit of a bargain.

Here are some shots of it being collected from Newera Kevin, on it's way to the boat.

New to MRC - introduce yourself / New Spirit R owner

Hello all,

I'm just in process of waiting for a Spirit R from Newera (in fact it boards the ship this weekend). I had an RX7 many years ago as a much younger man (and was a member of here back then!), and adored it. Lots of other performance cars came (and some) went. I was actually looking for an R34 GTR when I saw Miguel's Spirit R, and couldn't help but buy it.

Got a few motorsport-themed special editions tucked away in the garage, so the Spirit R will be in good company. Can't wait for it to arrive!

Thanks,

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Re: Who to use to import?

Hi mate,

I've only just joined as well - I've recently bought a Spirit R through Newera, and although the car hasnt actually turned up yet, I have to say Miguel has been fantastic. The process has been faultless, lots of images and info for each stage of the purchase and shipping. I asked for HD versions of the images on the website, which were sent immediately and helped zoom in for more detail.

I'd definitely recommend, and am now looking for another car or two from him!
