General Technical / 3rd gen central locking query
October 07, 2017, 06:38:16 PM
My 96 type rs seems to have a setup in regards to the central locking I've not seen before on any fd I've had.

It has aftermarket remote central locking but the passenger door is not locking anymore, only unlocking from the fob. Drivers door is fine. If you lock or unlock from either the inside lever or the key on drivers door it doesnt do anything on passenger. My previous cars always switched the other side when doing this.

Took off both door cards and no sign of any aftermarket actuators anywhere. It seems both door locks have the actuators built into them.

Was there ever a stock keyless system on them and when was it introduced?, seems it might have been tinkered with quite a lot if not.

Thanks

found this but does anyone know how to test each individual wire to see where the drain is coming from.  Unfortunately my skills with a multimeter do not stretch that far......

3rd generation RX-7's / EGI fuse battery drain

i seem to be getting a flat battery really quickly (week) and have checked the alternator which is showing 14.5v when running etc so seems okay. battery is brand new and been checked aswell.

i also done the elimination (pulling fuses out) to check any draw on the battery and the one that is drawing 37 milliamps is the egi fuse on the fuse box right next to the battery. the car has no alarm or anything that should be on when the car is locked so any ideas what could be causing this draw and where to start?

cheers

Hi,

Can anyone tell the brake discs sizes for the 1998 Type rs-r FD . Are the fronts and Rears totally different to standard Fd?

i think the fronts are thicker at 32mm thick but i have no idea about the rears?

Cheers
