RX-8's / Got another Rotary!!
May 20, 2021, 01:00:19 PM
Hi All,

So I've been a member of the forum for a few years now on and off (about 8 years) as i used to own a second gen NA about 12 years ago.

Well I'm finally back in a Rotary as I did a straight swap with a friend of mine (he got a Volvo V50 and i got his 8).

She's a 2003 231 model in Velocity Red with Black leather interior with 83000 miles on the original engine. My friend bought it from the original owner in 2018. As such the history with the car immense.

I have the following:
Invitation from the Mazda Dealer to preview the "BRAND NEW" Mazda RX8 at a special after hours event.
Original Order Form
Sales Invoice
Multiple Recalls
And loads of invoices.

My very good friend installed a Toyo Sports exhaust, a set of Rota Alloys (they're yellow) and a set of Meisterr Coilovers. All very nice but not really my style so I'm going to look at offloading them soon in favour of original parts.

My plan is to return her to stock (ish) and enjoy the car. Its a second car so the mileage won't be creeping up too much.

Hey All,

its been a long time since i was back here (2008 to be precise!). Back then my two friends and i owned 3 FC's all of which were N/A and an FD. I moved to Australia and sold my FC and I've regretted it ever since.

It was RED with Turbo II wheels, a duck tale spoiler (quite rare i think), Turbo II front splitter and a white dial kit (which used to give me a bloody headache driving at night).

I sold it at a massive loss because it needed work but i am now in a position where I'd like to get her back.

I have checked with the DVLA and their website says that's it's not been MOT'd since 2010 but it does have a current SORN notice on it which is good news.  ;D

Attached is a video from Rotary Club trip to Brooklands in 08 and my car is the red one at 0.10 seconds (shot prior to addition of Turbo II wheels and splitter)

At this point i don't really care if its just a bare shell i get back, the old lady has sentimental value. So there could be a little reward by way of a case of beer (your choice) or whisky (no single malt  ;)) for any information that can help me track her down.

Hello Guys and Gals,

I used to be a member here a long time ago (5 years i think) back when i used to own a red N/A with the reg number E298 DTT. Unfortunately i sold her as i was low on the old funds and she was just costing me too much to run.

A few weeks ago i was having a conversation with my brother who is a massive rotary nut and is well versed with the engines and we were discussing the old 7\'s we used to own... anyway to cut a long story short i became very sentimental of the old lady and did a DVLA search almost immediately!!

To my surprise she hasn\'t been scrapped but is SORN\'d so i would like to reach out to the community i was once a part of to see if anybody knows where this car is so i can perhaps try and buy her back.

As mentioned the reg is E298 DTT, she had turbo II wheels and front splitter and a duck tale spoiler as well as a white dial kit installed.

Honestly i don\'t know if this will work but i like to give it a try because honestly i think it was probably the best car i\'ve owned.
