to be honest value for money youd get a better car from aus, rust is a big problem in uk, hence why not that many old skool rotaries
 
if your into hp then an aus built rotor is way to go, because of the small market in uk for rotaries and japs, parts etc is very pricey

13BT engine into a first gen is relatively simple, the engines i use for the conversion are series 4/5 (FC) or the cosmo 13BTT engines,
i can use the series 5 turbos in the conversion and an easy 300hp is achievable
you do have to upgrade the fuel cooling systems etc to have the best result
 
and rotaries are very reliable as long as setup correctly, any engine with a system not working correctly will blow up and be unreliable
dont read and accept alot of internet threads to be the truth, ring and talk to the correct people ie a rotary shop, dont listen to hearsay
 
you can use first gen gearboxes or use series 4/5 (FC), i can also do the brake upgrades on them too
 
do you want to do it yourself or do you want someone else to do it for you
 
i can do the conversions but im in northern ireland and you would need to bring the car over if you wanted it done
 
i think if you search on this site alot of threads are similar to what your asking

sorry but your outta luck if you want a different ratio unless you get a factory mazda or aftermarket made crownwheel and pinion

reason, the pinion on the fc is really really long and no other diffs have the same length pinion, so you cant change ratio because you need both the crownwheel and pinion

i havent found any aftermarket for the fc, and to get made would probably cost more than the car
try a search for aftermarket crownwheel and pinion, if you find anything post up

you could use the crownwheel from another model car, if you got a longer pinion made up same as the short pinion teeth, to suit the crownwheel

i wouldnt bother with the forums, just look up repco or appco on the internet and phone them its alot quicker , also do a search on the nz or aussie google for the part

its nothing to do with emission laws, although they are tougher in nz and you have to have a cat if the car came with one factory,
the cars being imported can not be over 7 years old, it is to do with the frontal impact laws

but....... if you wait till it is classed as vintage car then you can import it
but nz vintage is 30 -35 years old not like uk classic which is 15 years old
dont quote me on years as its an approx

when i was last in nz 4 years ago you couldnt import series 4 rx7\'s to put on the road that is,
you can import anything if its not to be used on the road, hmm track/drag/drift car

nz rotarynut, their not into old skool cars like aus/nz that ive seen, a very small percentage is due to them being so rotten and the very small uk market in mazda rotaries

yes there is a calculator for injectors to horsepower, you only really want to go 80 percent duty cycle on your injector and dont have to high fuel pressure otherwise your spray pattern will turn into droplets and be worse off

Do any of you guys get more unwelcome attention in your FCs than in other cars?  I certainly do.  Had a guy in a Honda Accord estate barrelling round a roundabout after me. I mean his lights disappeared in the rear view then he kept coming another foot :Grrr

Then a kid in a VTi Civic was buzzing all around the car two nights ago wanting a race...

get used to it, its a rotary thing,
i had every tom dick and harry try and race me in my series 4 turbo, and most of them didnt even have half the horsepower but for some reason they thought they could win and after wheel spinning past them and away from them they come back for seconds, go figure
you should go to auckland/nz and drive around there in a rx, it would drive you bonkers
best thing is to ignore and save it for the track as it will cost you alot of fuel to keep showing them up

I currently have a turbo 2 cab and am looking to upgrade the turbo and intercooler.  I want to push around 300bhp, any ideas of which turbo and intercooler to buy to increase my bhp?

another option is get a T04 compressor housing backing plate and wheel fitted to your S5 turbo, then you dont have to change anything on the exhaust side, maybe get the internal wastegate enlarged, get a bosch upgrade fuel pump and fuel regulator, modify your secondary fuel rail ie remove factory fuel pressure regulator, get a chipped factory e.c.u which will increase fuel and remove fuel cut but downside is most or all remove rev limiter   or you can get 12A turbo injectors and fit to secondary rail but you need voltage heat resistor thing as the 12A turbo injectors are only 5-6V that way you will have enough fuel for a good 1 bar, there are front mount intercoolers which arent too pricey, this will make a very fun car and not cost the earth

you will be suprised how much you can gain without wasting money, but if you want big horsepower later then i would go down the route of complete t04 turbo new manifold and wastegate etc
