Cars for Sale / WANTED - Black FD shell/running issues
February 18, 2016, 10:37:35 PM
I am on the look out again for a Black FD as my circumstances are now better.

I am after either  a shell with as much as possible attached to the car, or one that has running issues.

Let me know what you got.

Cars for Sale / 95 Black FD Rolling Shell + Parts
August 29, 2015, 05:27:49 PM
I am selling my black FD rolling shell which i was doing a ground up restoration on and then going V8. Reason for sale is, I just cant afford to build the car or have the time do it. My GTR needs work doing to it, I am getting married in March and my house needs so much doing to it, so the Rex needs to go. I am absolutely gutted as i never even got to drive it as i bought it with a potentially dead engine, which it was in the end anyway.

I have stipped the interior and welded up some of the rust holes. There is only one left to do which is the passenger side under the seat belt bracket. There is also a bit cut out on the driver side rear arch that had rusted and some rust around the rear arch. Passenger side arch is fairly clean. Other than that the chassis is in great condition.

The interior is currently stripped
Engine and gearbox removed

I have pretty much all the parts to put it back together plus bits of engine as i stripped that down too and a few aftermarket goodies.

I would like £700 for the chassis but am open to offers, and can do deals on parts if you are interested in those too. If someone offers me the right price i will chuck everything in as i need to get my GTR back in the garage, so try me!

Couple of pics before i stripped the engine etc, It looks basically the same externally bar the small missing rear arch part. I also refitted the spoiler. -

Cars for Sale / Black 95 FD Rolling Shell For Sale
June 10, 2015, 06:06:02 PM
Unfortunately due to proposing to my girlfriend while we were in Florida a few weeks back the FD has to go to pay for the wedding. I had BIG plans for this car and am extremely gutted as I have always wanted an FD and never actually got to finish it and drive it. My loss your gain...

The shell is in fairly decent condition, rear arches need some some attention as they are rusty. Small rust hole underneath where i stripped the underseal off (underseal is bad stuff guys, it holds water!!!) also one of the drains had rusted. Probably about £100 quids worth of work to sort or anyone with a welder and a spare bit of sheet metal could do it, I was going to do it myself. After welding the two holes I was going to Epoxy Mastic the bottom of it.

The car is pretty much complete bar the engine and gearbox although I do have every single part that came off the car for sale as well so they can be added on for extra cash. Engine is stripped and in parts as it failed, but i bought it like that.

Interior is in pretty decent condition although I have removed the gear surround plastics while I have been working on the car but they will also come with it. I have also re-fitted the stock spoiler.

Here's a couple of pics -

I am GENUINELY gutted to be selling this as I have been waiting for about 10 years to actually own one and am still trying to think of ways to keep it at the moment but for now, it is 100% for sale so grab it while you can.

I am after £1600 for the shell which is a fair bit less than what i paid for it, but I am open to sensible offers. I will not let it got for peanuts and do have the time to break it for parts but really dont want to do that, I would rather someone buy it as a whole car so it can be put back on the road.

It will have to be collected from Swanley, Kent as I have no way of transporting it.

You can contact me on 07515 259 514. You will be better of txting or Whatsapp' me as I cant answer calls at work in the day.

Cheers Alex

Starting to think the same :(

I have a compression tester just cant remember where it is :(

Got the car back together and tried starting it and it sounded like it wanted to go but couldnt get it started.

Stuck some oil in the spark plug holes and it started straight away. We kept it running for about 10minutes. All the smoke cleared and we had to keep it above 3k to keep it on, as it warmed up we could get the revs down to about 1500 but had to hold it there.

Eventually we tried to let it idle but it just bogged down and cut out. When we rev'd it, it sounded like it was missing badly.

When we tried to start it again after that big flames were coming out the back and it just wouldnt catch...

Also noticed the oil pressure gauge isnt working, the light comes on when your first turn the key though...

Any ideas? Hoping it isnt fatal!

Thanks mate. I messaged him and he sold me a two trailing for £75 as they are the ones that seem to be weaker.

I ended up doing the wire mod with a switched relay to the coilpacks, ignitor, and condensor so they get a feed straight from the battery instead of the tired old wiring loom. The spark does seem to be alot better now. But got the others coilpacks just incase.

I'm going to put it back to together tonight and hopefully the bugger will start haha!

If I cant get it running and get sick of it I will let you know haha!

This could be a longshot, but check wirings fron trickerwheel (crank angle sensor, or something like that)

I think its getting wrong signal from some reason...

I checked the cas wires on Friday and they looked fine...

That confused me as well i thought the trailing was wasted spark. Good write up and can check the 12 v and ground on that ignitor. ebay has an ignitor for 40 pounds and coil packs as well.

Sorry mate!

Could you pm me the links?

Actually think i might have got that the wrong way round!

The single leads packs are the ones that are crap anyway!

Reading that id be checking you got a full 12V supply to the coils as the ignitor is doing its job. leading or trailing poor spark?

Thanks for that link mate.

Its both the leading coilpacks that are giving crap spark, the trailing run off the same one and that seems fine.

Just had the throttle body off and checked spark again.

The two leading coil packs are only giving a faint yellow spark so that probably explains why the engine isnt starting!

Could it just be a coincidence that both of those are not working as they are seperate to the trailing, and it be the ignition amp that has gone?

Has anyone near Swanley, got some coilpacks and ignition amp i can borrow for testing?

Are there any uprated coilpacks and ignition amp I can buy?
