The car is sold to a very nice guy on MRC. Will be sad to see her go but hopefully he will make a build thread on here. :)

Thanks for all the interests,

Gabor

Thank you. It is in great condition for a 31 year old car for sure and well looked after. I wish I could finish it and drive it but timing isn't the best for me either and I would prefer to see her back on the road as these cars don't like to stand for too long in the UK weather.

I will double check the MOT as well as soon as I get home.

Thanks,

Gabor

Not running at the moment unfortunately. Everything needs to be bolted on. Carb, Distributor, starter motor, manifold, header, cooling pipes etc.
Wiring is all there.
I bought the engine from a full member on here as a running, low milage one. I have many spares as well.

Here is a recent picture/

Price wise I am looking for offers really around £1500.

Thank you,

Gabor

Cars for Sale / Mazda Rx7 FB

Hello everyone,

I have decided to sell my FB. This would be a perfect project for someone.
I am going travelling for a while and I need to downsize my garage.

Here is some info on the car:
1984
Still has MOT but I will need to double check the exact date.
mint interiour (I will upload some pics later today)
The body has 90.000. Properly undersealed. No rust underneath at all.
It is very clean. The only spot that lets it down is some tiny bubbles on the roof.
She handles very well. Everything is standard suspension and body wise.

Originally I bought this car from Ireland with a pinto engine.
So far I have put a low mileage 12a in there but it needs finishing. I have all the parts for it and many more.
2 gearboxes, 2 carbs, starter motor etc.
I was going to finish it myself but as I have 2 other rotaries and work in London during the week I just don't have the time.

I will be very sad to see her go but ideally she needs a new home and driven back on the road again.

Here is some pictures for now but I will update this later today//

Thanks,

Gabor

It looks like I was lucky this time. We have found a hole on the heater pipe.
So probably that's where the air gets in. Should've started with a pressure test I guess. :)

Thanks everyone for their help. Hope the car will get there one day. Sooner or later I'm going to run out of problems. :)

Fingers crossed. Tomorrow the snapped bolt is coming out so I can try to bleed it again.
Since then I have realised that the first time I forgot to turn the heating on so maybe thats where the air trapped. :)
So there is still hope...

That might be the case unfortunately. Managed to break a bolt so I can't do the test this weekend. Yesterday when I was running the car up to temperature with the cap off the bubbles were there always. Arghhh.
If it needs new seals because I boiled these ones that's not a huge problem because I wanted to get a bigger bridge port anyway.
But wasn't planning it so soon though. :)

I remember now. It was in Haynes manual.
Do not run without a thermostat. The coolant will take the by-pass route rather than flow to the radiator.
This recirculation will give overheating.
I'm just going to put one in there an try to get rid off all the bubbles and see if it makes any different.

The fan is on constantly as I just wired in to a switch so I can control that.
That's what I thought about the thermostat. No thermostat means it should run colder but I remember reading somewhere don't ever run a rotary with no thermostat as it won't circulate properly and can cause overheating.

Kind of running out of ideas. Water pump, oil cooler doesn't leak. Radiator brand new. I have got 50-50 coolant and water.
Maybe there is still air in the system?

General Technical / help with engine running hot!!
June 26, 2015, 10:42:11 PM
Hello everyone,

I have a 13b NA. I have recently changed the standard radiator for an aluminium one because it was running hot.
Today I took it out for a test drive and the temperature is still climbing up slowly. I am using a cossworth electric fan (only a single pusher big one).
I thought it might be a thermostat so I had a look and there isn't one installed. Can it be the cause of the problem?
I remember reading somewhere that not having a thermostat messes up the circulation. Is that right?

Thanks for the help,

Gabor
