Too much work, no time for cars. 2014 probably still had a RX8 back then, then went to a Yellow convertible TII, then stopped for a bit, the usual I promised my wife no more RX7's. Then bought this <what i thought was ok> about 2 years ago. Been lots of parts to find / replace, then an unexpected engine rebuild, then the welding. I have chosen to ignore what it has cost me so far and probably only driven 200 miles.

I just love the 1st gen's for looks, 3rd gen's for performance.

Alive, my 1st gen is slowly getting back to the road after MOT expiring in September 2019 as i could not get the wipers to work (traced to the control unit for wipers / indicators) - then load of welding to get MOT ready, hopefully will pass tomorrow, then onto finding a replacement interior, having it resprayed (rattle can black is not great).

Not that I will get much driving in the next few months me thinks....

Please add me to the list. I will turn up with my yellow cabriolet and son who I am determined to get into rotarys, he\'s only 14, but we have a white cabriolet that needs a full restore on the drive for him to learn on.

Hello from Farnborough, hampshire from a returning rx7 owner. I\'ve got now a yellow fc convertible (was red) and a very rusty white convertible under a tarpaulin that i\'d love to get back on the road. Would like to meet up with other rx owners.

Yellow rx7 has a reg of G511RYB so would love to hear if anyone knows any of its history.
White rx7 has a reg of G706BPV

Thanks for the help guys, I\'ll try and Tee it all together this weekend and see if that fixes the poor idling

Still got to look underneath at the rust and work out why the fuel pump has to be hard wired to the battery to get it work.

Then i can see if it will be a donor or a restore project.

Prof, looks like you might be just up the road from me, if you still have an FC any chance i can take a look under your bonnet to see how it should be connected ?

Cheers:cheers

If it works you can see the sorry state the car is in, but it was only £250 on ebay, so i thought - i can\'t go wrong ....:wave

Hi all,
I\'ve just bought from ebay a wreck of a car. It\'s a Turbo2 convertible that at some time in it\'s life was loved (G706 BPV) as it has a fuel cut defender, Racing Beat exhaust, air filter upgrade, shock upgrade, upgraded brakes/discs.
Wheels are missing, hood is ripped, driver\'s seat bolster is ripped and a number of panels have been keyed and paint if flaking off. Interior is missing lots of pieces (including carpet).
But, my choice is whether to restore the car (and it\'s rust and problems) or take the engine out and install it into an MX5 (1st gen).

I like both the RX7 and the MX5, so i am thinking.

Anyway, the reason for the post:
Fuel pump not working unless i provider direct power from the battery to it. It then fires up the engine first go, but it won\'t idle. Looking in the engine bay the pipe that goes from the \'Pressure Sensor\' on the drivers wing is floating in air. As is the pipe from the \'MAF sensor\', there\'s a third one coming from the side of the engine, and they look like all 3 in the past joined together possibly with a T piece or other item.

Any ideas?
(any help on posting pics to help ppl to see the problem)
